I hope that plot's not final. It would be pretty tiresome for them go against another dictator of fictionalized country (or island). Kind of hoping the story would fall pretty much the recent headlines where the team is given the job to hunt and exterminate a very dangerous terrorist.

I was kind of hoping for a mission where they weren't supposed to make it, get betrayed by Church somehow, big fight ensues to take down Church. Something were Church is the villain as Stallone has hinted that we'd get more of the character...and as a bad guy.

WTF?! Fucking hell.
UPDATE: Brett Norensberg, JCVD’s talent agent, got back to us with this, “Sheldon misled you unfortunately; I do not even have an offer for JCVD to do Expendables 2. I am sorry; I believe Sheldon didn’t understand this himself.” So no Van Damme in Expendables 2 after all.

I think we all know how much I enjoyed myself for the first film (Huge ass flaws and all....so many flaws)...but this new story ain't cutting it for me. It's like a retread of the first film w/ some variation.

Pass. Not that I was interested in this, after the first one took a massive steaming dump on my chest. I knew it would suck too, but I was dragged to it by my idiot friends who were somehow convinced it'd be "awesome".

I had (much too) lofty expectations going into the first movie only to be let-down. Will have low expectations going into the sequel -- hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised.

I'll wait for official details to emerge. Plenty of films are promoted at Cannes that don't end up happening or change their direction. I think there's still time. Let's also not forget that Stallone does pay some mind to the fanboy community, so maybe word'll get back to him that this plot is crap.

I wonder what type of dynamic the two roles have, Stallone and the role that Jane was supposed to have; it could be The Driver, Rolling Thunder/Southern Comfort, or 48 Hours style and I'd be ok with that.
I like Hill; when he misses, he tends to miss badly but he can really nail down the crime genre.

I run hot and cold on Hill, and I'm always hoping for a comeback that lives up to his best work. However, I insist he's made three of the best American crime thrillers of the last 25 years: EXTREME PREJUDICE, JOHNNY HANDSOME, TRESPASS. Have you seen those, Solid Snake?
