Re: The Expendables 2 (2012?)
That's an understatement. I watched "Rocky Balboa" again recently and I just know Stallone can do a good film when he wants to. Because "RB" took most people by surprise being a great little movie. I just hope he spends more time on the script on the next "Expendables". The blue print was there for the first. But that was it.

....yes. Yes it was. It was a bad terminator film though. And a weak film overall.
Expendables at least gave me some cool action moments (that could have been edited much better) and gave me a cool team of badasses to follow w/ some entertaining dialogue...which is what I wanted. A mindless action flick that was pretty dang cool.
Not saying it's perfect...it's not. A-Team was better if you want to compare team action films. But I enjoyed it a lot more than I did T3. I guess w/ T3 I wanted to care about the story, characters, and action. T1 and T2 gave me that. T3 gave me...none of that. It just didn't click on any of those lines. Neat action....but...it was eh. Also the CGI just never looked great either.

And Stallone beats Arnold by a year in age. So it's not that bad. He could do the work...granted. Sly probably kept in good shape whereas Arnold let himself go a bit last time I saw him without his shirt.

You know, I told so many people this after I finally saw "The A-Team". It's everything "The Expendables" should have been and wasn't. And I had no interest in "The A-Team". It was fun, exciting, thrilling and sexy (thanks so Jessica Beals).

This thread is bordering on pathetic. Face it... the 80's action stars of yore are all over the hill. Get over it. Time to move on. They're not coming back. It's okay... it really is. FWIW we still have all their old B movies to pour over.

I'm not exactly asking for an 80s action film though...this is what we want though for the sake of awesome Nostalgia. I don't mind Sly making action films though. Just make it better, sly. Fix that editing and color timing especially.

Lets go to Wiki for crazy casting rumors!
Sources said that Stallone had been talking with:
Jean-Claude Van Damme,
Hulk Hogan,
Mr. T,
Carl Weathers,
Vin Diesel,
Dwayne Johnson,
Charlie Sheen,
Chuck Norris,
Lorenzo Lamas,
Jeff Speakman,
Olivier Gruner
about the sequel, which he intends to be "a love letter to martial arts."[54] Stallone reportedly wants Sheen to play a CIA agent chasing Willis' crime lord character,[53] while Norris' role will be a cameo like Schwarzenegger's in the first film.[54] On January 15, 2011, it was reported that Van Damme agreed to appear under the condition that Steven Seagal is not involved.[55]
Jeff "Perfect Weapon" Speakman and Olivier Gruner. Nice, just need Thomas Ian Griffith too, to complete my B movie VHS days.

Oh, and Sly? Leave Vin Diesel and Hulk Hogan out of this. Please!
