Exactly, I would hardly call that a weak end to Marvin's career. It's probably IMO one of the most rewatchable action films.

My take: S.O.B. is no masterpiece, but Holden is very good, probably the best thing in it (aside from Julie's boobs). The movie's mix of farce and seriousness doesn't really gel but it's not a disgrace.

Britanny Murphy: pick one - she was in eight crappy films after Sin City until her death.
Charles Bronson: he did the Family of Cops tv trilogy films before dying.
Jack Palance: I don't know why he didn't get any more entertaining movies after City Slickers 2.

Janet Margolin (was great in Morituri). Died after a small part in Ghostbusters 2.

an obvious choice but Eric Freeman needs to be mentioned...

Fair enough. But certainly a step down for an Academy Award-winning actor.

"Delta Force" is certainly much better than "The Great Smoky Roadblock" and "The Swarm" which Henry Fonda did near the end of his career. ("On Golden Pond" thankfully came along although I don't think that movie is any great shakes.)

Agree. S.O.B. had some respectable reviews when it came out.
