Had to vote Ghostbusters, but Spies Like Us is at least a close second, if not tied.

I went Ghostbusters too but hesitated over Blues Brothers. I watched Spies Like Us recently and it doesn't hold up as well as I remembered.

Even though I like Ghostbusters better, his best performance was in Blues Brothers.

Close between Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters, but I'm going with Ghostbusters.

Wow, I don't remember him in Temple of Doom.

He had a very small part when Indiana Jones, Willie, and Short Round are getting into the plane when escaping from Shanghai. Hard to tell, but listen to his voice, it's definitely him.

Spies Like Us and Blues Brothers for me. I have nothing but good memories when it comes to those films.

I felt obligated to go with Ghostbusters, but close second is The Great Outdoors.

Good thing you specified 1980s or the poll results would be completely different.

How so? Due to a film from the 70's or from the 90's...or, gasp, recently?

My love for Ghostbusters clouds my judgement... I picked that! But he was fun to watch in many others as well.

I'd have to go with Neighbors, I love seeing him as a "villan"

Re: the Best DAN AYKROYD film of the 1980s?

Good stuff.

The Blues Brothers (1980) - My vote.
Neighbors (1981) Underappreciated black comedy. Interesting - to me - for the switch in characterizations between him and Belushi.
Ghostbusters (1984)
Spies Like Us (1985)
Dragnet (1987)

I could have voted for any of those, but the Blues Brothers gets it by a nod. Just a great film.
Plus, I haven't seen Dragnet or Spies Like Us recently - have Dragnet in the Tom Hanks pack, just haven't watched yet - and it's possibly they won't be as good as nostalgia/memory makes them. I did watch Ghostbusters recently, and was reminded how good and fun a film that was.

Trading Places by exactly one million miles. Then Ghostbusters. Most of the others are total garbage.

Had to go with Ghostbusters. I almost voted for Temple of Doom, but it's not really a "Dan Aykroyd movie".

The Blues Brothers is a better movie overall, and very near and dear to me, but I literally grew up on Ghostbusters, and I think Ghostbusters is funnier, too.
