Walker (Lee Marvin, Point Blank 1967)

One of the toughest goddamned characters to ever grace a film screen.

The character goes back even farther than that:

Very true! But I wasn't sure whether that film (or the 1921 Italian film) would have met the qualifications of a theatrically released feature-length film. However, Osiris can make the call, and adjust the date if necessary.

But Karloff still gets the nod as the quintessential Monster.

"Check it out. Dustin Hoffman, 'Rain Man,' look retarded, act retarded, not retarded. Counted toothpicks, cheated cards. Autistic, sho'. Not retarded. You know Tom Hanks, 'Forrest Gump.' Slow, yes. Retarded, maybe. Braces on his legs. But he charmed the pants off Nixon and won a ping-pong competition. That ain't retarded. Peter Sellers, 'Being There.' Infantile, yes. Retarded, no. You went full retard, man. Never go full retard. You don't buy that? Ask Sean Penn, 2001, 'I Am Sam.' Remember? Went full retard, went home empty handed..."

Re: DVDTalk draft game

hey ya'll thanks for keeping the draft moving along, I've been busy with a wedding this weekend.

Orangecrush, I assume you don't mind me excluding Jackie Chan's upcoming performance from your Mr. Miyagi selection? Nobody really cares right

Re: DVDTalk draft game

Jackie Chan does not play Mr. Miyagi in the upcoming film; it's a different character, Mr. Han.

No, sorry. Has to be something we have or could see at this moment. Plus it wouldn't be fair to others, otherwise I'm sure someone else would have picked a character that has yet to be adapted for a feature length film.

I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects. Do you like Beethoven?
