You may think of evolution as... an upward process. Things evolve from primeval slime, up to single-celled organisms, up to... intelligent life. De-evolution, of course, works the opposite way. Back to... simpler forms. For instance, even our musical friend Toad... can become... a loyal child of the royal family: Goombas!

I saw the six minute preview on youtube (it's not hard to find). It seemed decent.

Re: Spider-Man (2012, Marc Webb)

i watched the first Spiderman (DVD) last night since it's been awhile and just wanted to refresh it due to the new one coming out...

To me it's pretty good "First" marvel movie. The whole storyline behind Parker-to-Spiderman is done very well. And Tobey MaGuire pullls a good Parker/Spidy double duty...he looks like a Peter Parker. I've read some complained about the Green Goblin but Willem Dafoe played the Dr.Ozborne/Goblin role perfect. The love interest of Parker/Spidy with didn't distract from the movie to much and the CGI wasn't overblown. J.K Simmons was perfect as the Jameson as Robertson and Harris as Parker's uncle and Aunt. And don't forget the score either...done by one Danny Elfman.

If anything, the creation of "The Lizard' and battle with Spiderman will be worth it. It ill be interesting to see how they do the Parker-to-Spiderman, balance his love interest, his family past, the Law after Spiderman and battle with the Lizard.

Saw the figures at target today. Mostly standard stuff and they just look like reissues of previous figures. The costume is not even the new one and has the real Spider on the front not the new long leg spider.

No four inch Lizard yet but there are figures for Doc Ock, venom and G.G.

THere is a bigger battle figure lizard that looks ridiculous.

Don't worry, they'll film all his scenes at night or in a dark sewer with the most jaw-dropping cgi the cinema has ever known. You'll never notice his crotch area.

That lizard toy looks like he just got told he's getting a Happy Meal, or free Pizza from Pizza Hut, or whichever food chain is doing tie-ins with this movie.

So Connors develops a lizard formula to help him regrow his missing arm, but it makes him lose his penis. Not really a fair trade-off...

That first lizard toy looks like they reused heads from unsold "Mars Attacks" figures.

The music is my only real "in" to this film. I had absolutely no interest until learning Horner was scoring it.

I'm not getting anything off that montage of music. Just kind of sounds generic for the most part. Though bits and pieces are good.

Sounds like it has a great main theme, and a very modern edge to the score. I like that it's within the same realm as Elfman's music for the previous films without trying to compete with it. Just a different take, the same way this film is supposed to be a different take but still has some stylistic similarities with the Raimi films.

I have ZERO desire to see this movie.

And as a life-long Marvel zombie and a huge movie fan, I feel sorta ashamed about that.
