Looks cool but that page has an unrealstic picture of Shaw, I don't think that's the Sebastian Shaw they're going for in this movie. I think they'll go with the "Wolverine and the X-Men" version of Shaw.

I don't follow the comics, but from the images linked to of Sebastian Shaw so far, he comes off as a pirate with a big pink bow tied to his ponytail. I hope they don't try to replicate this look too closely in the film, arrrr matey ...

I don't care so much about having the original team if this isn't a reboot but another issue is that Fox's whole mutant continuity sucks big time. This is supposed to be the 60's but Xaiver's in his 20's even though he was already bald and Patrick Stewarty in the late 70's Wolverine film. McTaggert was in the X3 movie and in her 40's/50's but she's to be in her 20's here.

Actually, they are; another point Singer stressed was that because of it's 60's setting, settings and outfits have the flexibility of being garish. And really, that's always been Shaw's/Hellfire Club's look.

But, he also mentioned X will be shown having his accident at the end of the film... didn't the existing movies already establish that as happening much later in his life? (still walking in the X3 opening)

Yeah, that's the continued retro-continuity, like how they had Emma Frost in Wolverine as a teen or how Beast wasn't to be blue and furry in X2.
The problem is that when you look at Marvel Studios and how well they do continuity, the X-Men series looks like it's nothing but a series in flux as there's never been a real idea on how to progress the stories. Several plot devices or set pieces were shifted around or simply dropped because of budget concerns or wanting to develop characters a certain way in sequels but never doing such.

..............are we really going to fucking argue about how a cartoon and a comic artist do a version of the same damn character? They're the same guy just done visually different for the medium.

Even in the afterlife, Snake is cranky if he hasn't completed his daily rape quota.

January Jones really does "Bored and Disinterested" tremendously well.

sure this isn't an austin powers movie. this movie will be a turd. to have a movie called x-men first class and not have scott summers and jean grey be the main characters is atrocious. i would guarantee if this movie was being made at marvel it would focus of those two characters since THEY are the first class of the x-men. hope fox doesn't try to rush the reboot of fantastic four out just to stick it to marvel otherwise those rights should be going back by next year.

As long as it turns out to be a good movie, I don't care about continuity one way or the other. The way I see it, they should have just started over and pretended X1-3 never happened. X2 was a pretty terrific movie in and of itself, but 1, 3, and Wolverine were forgettable, atrocious, and awful, in order.
