Jon2 -- Wow, I would have loved to see her in person! Especially in that dress!
JumpCutz -- What can I say? That's why I love this forum, because I am a huge movie buff. I even have plans to see Valentine's Day this weekend even though it got terrible reviews. I always got to give a movie a chance on my own. :P

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Yea, it was the visuals that caught my eye as well. I don't know, something about Cage and his longevity in the industry!

I think it will be fun and I don't get the hate for Nic Cage. Sure, he's crazy, but he's awesome.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Sometimes I think people hate on him because he is older? I don't know...he seems like that actor people love to hate....and like you said, with no validation.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

I like Cage and this looks like all kinds of fun. Molina looks like he'll make for an awesome villain. Now if he tells someone "throw me the idol and then I throw you the whip" I'll be one happy camper.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Nic Cage only makes two types of movies--piles of trash or entertaining stuff. This one looks to be entertaining and fun.

Monica Belluci looks incredibly hot for someone whose 45. She looks 10 years younger than that in the photo on the previous page.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Haha, I know what you mean about Cage, but you also got to give him some credit for being in the business for so long. I loved him during the 90's with Con Air, City of Angels, Face Off, etc. My favorite Cage film is probably Matchstick Men though. This one defnitely looks right up my alley too and I think this role is fitting for Nic.

As for Monica, wow -- yeah, she definitely doesn't look 45! She is gorgeous. I wish I had Italian olive colored skin!

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Going to see this tomorrow night at Montreal fantasia festival. Kinda exciting just for the fact that Jay Baruchel is going to be there but i'm also glad to see the movie even though i don't think i would of seen it in normal theaters.

Fantasia always has movies from around the globe but it's wierd it has such a blockbuster-y movie like that. It's usually indie movies or foreign movies. But still cool!

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Hadn't seen anything with Nic Cage in it for years, but he totally redeemed/reestablished himself to me in Kick Ass. I think this looks kinda fun from the trailers. Will definitely throw it in my Netflix queue.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

I don't get the Cage hate either... I think it's mostly from these Gen-Y/Millennial nitwits who think his career started with Con-Air or something. Yeah, he's done PLENTY of shitty movies lately but man-oh-man check out his dramatic turn in Alan Parker's "Birdy" or something. He was above average!! But not in girth

Well it was actually pretty damn good! I was really surprised it was that entertaining. The funny stuff was very funny, the action was top notch and even the cute stuff was well, cute! The special effects were really well done.

It was really Jay Baruchel's movie for sure though, he really sold the movie, he was very funny. Nic Cage was pretty damn cool also!

But yeah overall a great summer movie! Blockbuster cinema at it's finest i suppose!

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Looking forward to it, as are a lot of my friends. Between The A-Team, Predators, and this, this summer is turning into the summer of smaller, more fun action movies.

This one is anything but small though, i guess it won't be as big as Disney hopes but the scope of the actual movie is pretty darn epic, or at least that's what they try to accomplish.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Didn't really care for this. Felt like it was more for a young teen audience. The first half was good but then it turned kind of cliche, and the non-stop barrage of special effects got old for me. I also thought the dialogue was pretty hokey and it felt like there was a missing chunk of character development. Not a bad movie but I didn't think it was good either. Maybe like C or C-.

Re: Sorcerer's Apprentice

This movie is one of the better so-bad-it's-good films I've seen in years. Cage and Molina ham it up so gloriously! And Cage even punches a woman!
