The director should have had the "centipede" eat something and expel it with the camera focussed on the faces of the middle and the end. Then see how many in the audience sit through that.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Was at a friends house this weekend and gave him a great double feature of Martyrs and High Tension. He loved them and I told him about this one and he got interested until he realized there would be no gore like the others. I wish I could have been a colaberator in this film. I would have made every mother fucker run out of the theater.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Interesting tidbit about one of the girls in this movie.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2280521/bio Attractive and apparently talented. Must be very difficult to find work these days to accept a role like this. |
Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Her only other film credit? Willow.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
If you combine Human Centipede and Willow you have a really good porn paraody in the making. Just saying...

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
even though Time OUt New York is a hard bunch of reviewers to please, the 1 star review really ripped on the film.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Ebert gave it a no star review, which isn't the same as a Zero star review apparently -- this movie finally gave him a reason to break the star rating scale

http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/...IEWS/100509982 This is why there should be horror movie review critics. A regular critic can't review typical shock horror flicks. For example, I think "Ichi the Killer" is one of the worst films i've ever seen. But to a horror movie fan/critic, it probably gets 4 out of 4 stars... But still, I don't understand what he's so shocked about. As a film, it's a "0 to 1" star film. As a horror film, it's just a "2". Maybe people really can't get past the "you never go ass to mouth, never!" debate from Clerks 2. |

Jeezus! What an idiot. If he gave "Saw" two stars then he can do the same with this film. All he's doing is promoting the film with his "no star" rating.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
In Ebert's review he justifies the "no star" rating, and I think he is fair about it.

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Ebert's review actual has a shout-out to folks in this thread and around the Internet:
I have long attempted to take a generic approach. In other words, is a film true to its genre and does it deliver what its audiences presumably expect? “The Human Centipede” scores high on this scale. It is depraved and disgusting enough to satisfy the most demanding midnight movie fan. And it's not simply an exploitation film. He also says this: I am required to award stars to movies I review. This time, I refuse to do it. The star rating system is unsuited to this film. Is the movie good? Is it bad? Does it matter? It is what it is and occupies a world where the stars don't shine. As for me, I'll wait until one night when I'm drunk and I stumble upon it on Netflix On-Demand. |
Re: Human Centipede (What?)
Also, i like to that before describing the movie he admited that its not really a spoiler in horror movie circles

Re: Human Centipede (What?)
I still see no reason why Ebert can't give this film a grade. He's reviewed countless genre films already. It's no excuse. Human Centipede is just an all-around bad yet entertaining film (bad story/bad acting) with some shocking scenes. It's the same as not giving a grade to a bad movie with good kung fu action scenes. It's the same as not giving a grade to a bad movie with pretentious filmmaking and awesome cinematography (cough..Wong Kar Wai films..cough cough). It's the same as not giving a grade to a bad movie with expensive CGI scenes/special effects (cough...George Lucas prequels..cough cough).

I can picture the pRon knockoff of this movie with the middle and last person's mouths attached to the previous person's cock/pussy.

Does the mad doctor give any reason WHY he feels the world should be one giant centipede? What are the benefits?
I cannot bring myself to watch. Some things better remain unseen. |
