They always sell next year's passes at Comic-Con. You can only buy 4-day passes and you used to save money but last couple years it's been the same price that's offered later.

Sorry, let me explain. The 4 days w/ preview night were sold out at con for next year. Which could just mean that the allocated amount of preview night 4 day passes were sold out and more will go on sale when they go up online, but if it's the worse case, then that's getting too much demand and they would be too big for san diego.

To essentially sell out of a complete badge option at con the year before, that is.
Though I did never get the point of same day badge pick up only. This year I bought multiple day passes and had to go through the bump and grind every day to get the badge. It was nice to have the other talkers to save a spot in Hall H line for me while I went up. But that wouldn't be needed if I would have every day's badge after one visit there. Think of how much less work the employees have to do if you could just collect all your badges in one day opposed to seeing my mug each of those days.
