I love how the writer of the article essentially calls Shia Labouf on his PR bullshit by bringing up the Armani ad.:up:
Also Megan Fox's role in How To Lose Friends and Alienate People a year after the first Transformers film, showed she was not uncomfortable with the label of a Sex Symbol. Also Jennifer's Body anyone? |

Hell, the fate of the Quintessons wasn't even resolved in the original cartoon and they were in at least 5 episodes. There was a 5 parter pretty much all about them plus the movie and there may have even been more episodes devoted to them. I still don't quite understand what they're all about. Super cool characters but there's no way they could just show up in this movie since this will supposedly be the last one. I assume if it does Avatar dollars they'll throw another one out there but I believe Bay always intended these to be a trilogy and that's it.
From the looks of the trailer, Omega Supreme is in it and even he has a somewhat lengthy and interesting backstory. I wonder if that will be touched on. There were a lot of characters that were introduced later in the cartoon that were actually kind of complicated. In the '86 movie the Quints were meant to be one-time characters. They proved popular so they added them to the series with the backstory that they created the Transformers as slaves and then they rebelled and split up into two factions: the domestic branch (the Autobots) and the military branch (the Decepticons). I forget what their function was in the comics but I recall that, unlike the cartoon, they did not create the Transformers but they may have enslaved them at one time. |

Anyone know who actually composed the military theme from the first two movies? It's not included in either score CD and that's usually a sign that the lead composer didn't write it. Was it Trevor Morris or Lorne Balfe? They wrote additional music for Transformers. Hans Zimmer, Lorne Balfe, and Jay Flood did additional music for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. And it seems Clay Duncan, Tom Gire, and John Sponsler did additional music for Transformers: Dark Of The Moon. |

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
Oh it isn't an excuse, it is what it is, Transformers 2 was horrendous and Transformers 1 was frankly idiotic and inexplicably kind of entertaining.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
I thought Bay was recently quoted as saying this one was going to be leaner, with a shorter runtime? Guess that went out the window.

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
I heard the end credits run for 45 minutes

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
I'm watching Revenge of the Sith on Spike TV and have seen 2 new tv spots. Some new stuff I noticed is there's a bright red transformer shown. Don't recognize that one. There's also a 4 legged transformer shown running down the highway.
There's a quick shot of Sam jumping onto Starscream from a building and stabbing him in the eye. But the last part of the tv spot was the most interesting to me. It shows Prime throwing a punch right threw a Decepticon and destroying him. You can only see the back of the Decepticon, but it kinda looks like Starscream. |
Re: Transformers 3 Announced
FYI, they're opening this early on Tues. 6/28 for 9pm showings. I might grab some IMAX seats.
|
Re: Transformers 3 Announced
^ word is that Paramount is allowing theatres to open 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' at 9PM on Tuesday June 28th at 9PM, but this applies to IMAX and 3D screens only.
regular 2D prints will have to wait until midnight. this feels very deja vu since 80's summer movies Wednesday openings were very common - nowadays less so. how did the theaters and IMAX work out the fact that Super 8, Cars 2 AND Transformers 3 come out so close to one another?? |
Re: Transformers 3 Announced
Steven Spielberg 'demanded Megan Fox be fired from Transformers after Hitler comment' Steven Spielberg demanded Megan Fox be fired from the latest Transformers film after she insulted its director, it has been revealed. The Hollywood legend was outraged after the screen beauty compared Michael Bay to Hitler during a press interview. Fox had tried to claim she left the third in the series of the films to pursue other acting opportunities. But ahead of the July 4 premiere of Transformers 3 director Bay has revealed for the first time he was told to get rid of the actress. He said: 'You know the Hitler thing. Steven (Spielberg) said, fire her right now.' Spielberg is executive producer of the film which stars Shia LaBeouf. Other crew members from the film hit back on a blog comparing Fox's acting to that of a porn star. [...] 'We know this quite intimately because we've had the tedious experience of working with the dumb-as-a-rock Megan Fox on both Transformers movies.' The film's screenwriter Ehren Kruger told GQ magazine that Fox didn't seem interested when she arrived for rehearsals for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. He said:'She seemed like an actress who didn't want to be part of it.' |
Re: Transformers 3 Announced
I still can't tell if Megan Fox is too smart or too dumb for Hollywood.
She's not all that pragmatic, but then she's a total introvert who hates parties and people. I think she'd be perfectly happy working in a bookstore, or running an online business of some kind. Anything that doesn't require her to leave the house and put on a phony smile and deal with everyone staring at her all the time. |

Re: Transformers 3 Announced
From what I understand, Bay more or less just picked her completely out of the blue to star in Transformers and she instantly became a huge sex symbol. Prior to Transformers, she'd only had bit parts in a few tv shows and movies.
It's quite possible she never really had any intention of becomming a mega star and once she became one, she absolutely hated it. Being a Hollywood celebrity isn't for everybody. I honestly don't know anything about her. She seems to rarely give interviews and like NIMH Rat said, seems to not like the Hollywood lifestyle so she's just never in the news. Last I heard she goes to Brian Austin Green's kids baseball games and that's pretty much all she does. She has always come off as pretty likable to me. She seems like kind of an innocent girl that just got chewed up and spit out by Hollywood. God damn she used to be hot before she lost so much weight too. I don't have any problem with her getting fired over her Hitler comment and apparent lack of work ethic, but I think it's pretty bushleague that those negative comments about her attitude, poor acting and low intelligence were released to the public. |
Re: Transformers 3 Announced
That would be a fairly bullshit reason, even if it were true; Tom Cruise compares psychiatry to the Nazi's yet worked with Spielberg multiple times.
Honestly, that smacks of someone covering the situation up with the standard "blank personally offended someone's sensibilities." |
