Yeah he is indeed better than lots of the younger stars now featured on the big screen. He's cranked out some turds, no question, but the guy was killing it in the '80s and '90s. And, as another poster pointed out, Legend is fucking awesome, so that gives him an automatic pass. |

I think reviews will be okay, but they will make no difference to me as I intend to see it regardless. I think the general American populace is still too skeptical about Tom Cruise for this to make any major money in the US.

Even with Tommy C playing the same role I still think this movie looks awesome. December 21st is the first release date since as long as I can remember where I needed to see 2 movies released.

Ive got an idiot imax question, as i plan on seeing it the 16th. With the digital theaters (the AMCs of the imax), when the aspect ratio shifts for stuff shot in the imax format, the screen will shift with it to 1:78;1 or whatever the imax digital aspect ratio is? and then go back to 2:35;1 for the rest of the movie

^ correct and it's supposedly around 30 minutes of footage. Considering though the IMAX footage aspect ratio is 4:3 - it's better to see this movie on a 15/70 IMAX screen than an IMAX-Digital screen (where it's AR is cropped 1.78). (bare in mind though 'The Dark Knight Rises' 6 minute prologue is only featured in 15/70 theaters and not on IMAX-Digital screens)

A BMW owner I know said the dealer called him and asked if he wanted free tickets to MI-4, as part of the BMW promotion in the movie.

I may or may not have seen this already and it may or may not be the best Mission Impossible movie to date. But I'd lean much more toward the former than the latter in both instances.
