No. No. No. The Matrix is REAL. The Terminator is just some fictional movie created to entertain us while we're in the Matrix.

-Taking care of you from "cradle to grave", the illusion is that it will work and will not cause the whole thing to reboot.
-It will cost nothing but your very life.
-Struggling with real life is bad, letting someone else take care of you is the better way to go.

Nice anniversabump.
And everybody knows Robocop is the prequel to The Terminator. Read the Frank Miller story.

The war between humans and machines has already been staged (I wouldn't say fought) and already been won...by the machines.

I'm not trying to pick a fight, but why do you get to pick what gets made fun of. The thread is lots of fun thinking on how movies have tied into so many other things.
Here is list of some of the things that were tied to the movies and you did not bring in obections to these:
anti-semitic
eXistenZ
commentary on our government.
sequel to Tron
sequel to The Passion Of The Christ
Battlestar Galactica is a prequel to all of them
Nyquil
Wizard of Oz
Seagull
sequel to Westworld
sequel to I, Robot
So then you decide that Bush and Obama are off limits?
Your post sounds like "Comedy Central" censoring "South Park", you get to decide what can be made fun of and what cannot be.
Have a good day and a good night.

I forgot about this winner of a thread.
lol @ Battlestar Galactica is a prequel to all of them

In all seriousness though, and someone may have posted this before, there's no way The Matrix is a sequel to The Terminator. If you have watched both franchises, you can tell that.
In The Terminator Universe, Skynet was built as a defensive system, became self-aware, and turned against the humans. It's sole purpose after becoming self-aware was to kill all humans.
In The Matrix Universe, the machines were built to serve mankind. This is a very over-simplified and to-the-point summary, but here it goes: They lived in harmony for a while, then were tired of being taken advantage of and treated as second-class citizens, so established their own society. They were prosperous and humans hated them for it. The response of the humans was to take away the sun to stop the machines from getting solar energy. The machines, in response, started to harvest the energy of the human body. Again, there is a lot more to it than that, but yeah. If anything, I Robot (the movie) would seem to be a more apt prequel to The Matrix, as you could at least reconcile that movie with short films in The Animatrix.
So yeah, Terminator Machines want to kill humans, Matrix Machines want to harvest humans. Two completely different universes, with different backstories, etc.
