Is The Matrix actually a sequil to Terminator

If you think that in both films we humans created artificial beings and they turned against us, the Terminator movies would be what happened in the beging. Then further in the future, when we couldnt figure out how to win, we torched the sky and they began using humans as power sources. that would obviously ignore what the tv series and T3 started with the machines using hydrogen fuel cells, but T3 insnt believed by most people to have happened anyway. and the show kinda follows some of the things said it T3. what do you think?

The Terminator had more sequins with all the 80's fashions.

I like turtles.

And I would think that the Matrix is actually a sequel to Wizard of Oz. Because Kansas went bye-bye!

This is what that woman who said she wrote "the Matrix" and "the Terminator" in her script, "The Third Eye." I forget her name but I remember she was going to sue her lawyers because she thinks they colluded with the Studios to lose her court case.

But yeah, don't consider them sequels.

i remember the law suit against warner for the matrix but it would have to be an old script for terminator to steal it. always surprises me how people try to sue for things that have been out for years. like some how she just stumbled across the matrix and decieded to watch it based on the desciption on the back.

Maybe this is the big reveal set for the end of T4...

Neo meets Connor.

"Whoa!"

Cut to black.

It isn't a sequil. It also isn't a sequel.

well, im not asking if it is a sequel as much as im asking if the two story lines are close enough to believe that in the future mankind doesnt win the war against the machines. that it drags on for another hundred years untill we lose and are turned into slaves to power the machines.

or we could act like children and discuss how i spelled a word wrong. theres always that

No. They might be close enough, if close enough means that there is a future where Computers/Machines are running the world and humans are the subordinates. But the two movie franchises are not reconcilable in the least.

There are key differences between the relationship between humans and computers/machines in the two universes and extremely important differences as to how the computers/machines rose to power.

Go and watch The Animatrix. It will explain The Matrix's backstory and thus put to rest any lingering ideas you had as to whether or not The Matrix is somehow a far distant future of The Terminator.

Ummm...no, it's adults who spell words correctly and correct children when they spell something wrong. And it's children who spell words incorrectly and then complain when they've been corrected. (Or at least that's how adults used to act in the pre "self-esteem" era.)

And it's adults who know how to use the shift key--and children who don't.

I, like a lot of people, came to the same "It could almost be a follow-up to Terminator" conclusion after seeing the first Matrix movie. I think they went out of their way to fill in the backstory (Animatrix) to make it seem slightly less derivative of that franchise.

Of course, nothing could completely shake off the generic feel of the first movie.

No, it's not a sequel. The Matrix is a commentary on our government.

Why not? The Terminator is already a sequel to Westworld.

I thought the Matrix was a sequel to I, Robot. Then again the Matrix came out first so I guess that would make I, Robot a prequel. And where exactly does Dark City fit in?
