Well, I can understand if you don't think he's in the same ball park as DeNiro. But DiCaprio continues to astound me. The kid just keeps getting better as time goes on. Is "Shutter Island" and "Inception" his only two major releases in 2010? When will this guy get his Oscar? Ditto with Ed Norton. My favorite actor!

I dunno...Ed Norton's been kinda mum in his roles...and I haven't really been astounded by him in a while. DiCaprio has really grown as an actor since Gangs of New York. It seems like when he started w/ Scorsese he really grew as an actor. Thank God for that. I hated him before his Scorsese work...totally overrated back in the 90s.

Uh no he actually did some of his best work then...Gilbert Grape and Basketball Diaries, amazing in both.

Chris Nolan actually based Memento's screenplay off of his brother's story idea. Chris wrote the screenplay in parallel with his brother writing the short story.

Ed Norton was awesome in both The Invention of Lying and Modern Family. ;)

You can't say Leo > De Niro until you get to Leo's fifties and sixties and see if he becomes a parody of himself the way De Niro has.

I made that comment partially tongue-in-cheek. DiCaprio is one of my favourite performers. His psychiatry scene with Vera Farmiga in The Departed alone was leagues above any of Forest Whitaker's posturing in the Last King of Scotland, however charismatic Whitaker was.

The teaser for this movie is intriguing, but gives me no idea as to what it is about aside from it being freaky and of the sci-fi genre.

That is what teasers do....

It's Christopher Nolan, all of his movies are story before special effects, I doubt this will be any different.

Norton came out swinging with Primal Fear, American History X and Fight Club but ever since the Italian Job it seems like he's been phoning it in for years.

De Niro lost it after he stopped working with Scorsese, so I'm not sure what that comment is meant to mean.

What I meant was in the growth of acting quality for DiCaprio. Since he's joined Scorsese he's gotten sooo much better as an actor. De Niro...yeah, I'll agree Heat wasn't that much of a stretch for him honestly, not saying it was a bad role but...you know...De Niro could pull it off easily. And now DiCaprio is in a Nolan film...well...from what it looks like (and basing it off Nolan's NON Batman films) the acting will be pretty hardcore.
