Re: Your favorite WTF moments in movies

So much of what Downey/Lazarus/Osiris was saying probably had anyone who saw the film doing double-takes, going 'what did he say...where did THAT come from?'

When I saw this in film class, probably a third of the students screamed during that sequence. I personally leapt about three feet in my chair, but it was dark so luckily no one saw me jump, though in the general chaos of the moment I don't think anyone would have noticed anyway.

The ending of Dead or Alive (by Takashi Miike, not the one based on the game)
And the robot in Dead or Alive 3.

The ending of Don't Look Know trumps everything else in this thread.

What made the scene all the more shocking is that it's almost always the other way around in Hollywood.

Re: Your favorite WTF moments in movies

Definitely agree w/ Burn After Reading and Don't Look Now.

-speaking of Nicholas Roeg, whattabout the beginning sequence with the father and kids in Walkabout. That was a surprise - especially for a PG film.

-the final disturbing scene in Bruno Dumont's 'Twentynine Palms' (more shock than anything)

-seeing Julianne Moore flying thru the painting room by strings nude in The Big Lebowski

-the frowned-upon Alien Resurrection sex scene w/ Ridley lol

Oh, so it's okay to spoil a movie if it's just a few people. That makes a lot of fucking sense.

I agree with the previous posts that mentioned The Departed. I honestly didn't see that one coming.

Whereas I can definitely see what you're talking about.. I must mention that it is Takashi Miike. He's built his career off of WTF moments, so they shouldn't be that surprising. Like in Gozu when he recreates a famous scene from Xtro. Anybody else, it's a "Holy Shit!" reaction but I was more shocked that it took so long to happen.

There are new movie fans coming around every day, many who probably don't know the secret of Rosebud, you can never be too sure.

The funny part for me was the reversal of
