H2, aka Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie)

Just me rambling here.
The mask IS Halloween. The mask is the character. It would be stupid to make him without the mask all throughout the movie...it's like they are trying to change the character complete of what he's supposed to look like.
Imagine Jason without the mask...or Kruger without the hat or glove.

Spoiler-filled Casting Breakdown For 'H2'!
Monday, January 5, 2009
By: MrDisgusting
Our good friend 'Chuck E.' just sent us the latest casting breakdown for Rob Zombie's H2, which begins shooting this month in Los Angeles (or maybe Georgia?) for release on August 28th. While it doesn't confirm any returning names, it does give some idea into what the film is about and reveals multiple murder sequences. Get your hard hat on and get ready for some spoilers. The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

Actor must be comfortable with head and face casting for special effects, because her death is a vivid one! All about knives in the face!!
This is strong Supporting role for a strong young female

Loomis is alerted of Michael capturing Laurie by Tommy Doyle and Lyndsey Wallace, the children Laurie is babysitting, and sets off to the Myers house. There he confronts Michael as he approaches Laurie, begging Michael to stop, but as Michael ignores him and continues forward, Loomis is left with no choice but to shoot Michael. Loomis rescues Laurie, but Michael soon reawakens to continue the attack on his sister. Loomis again tries to reason with him at which point Michael lets Laurie go and begins to crush Loomis' head, and drags him into the Myers house before continuing his pursuit of Laurie. His fate is unknown.
In the unrated version of the film, when Michael is in pursuit of Laurie through the house, Loomis grabs his foot to try and stop him. Michael shakes him off. This means that Loomis survived the previous attack.
Loomis has a different fate in a workprint version of the film that was leaked before the film's release. In it, Loomis is successful in convincing Michael to let go of Laurie as he is surrounded by police officers, telling Michael he "did the right thing." After Michael is killed shortly afterwards in a hail of gunfire, we see Loomis crying.

From Rob Zombie's MySpace page:
We received confirmation today that Harris has officially signed on to return. In addition, we learned that Daniel Roebuck will also be returning to Haddonfield as Lou Martini. They will join the confirmed names of Ezra Buzzington and Tyler Mane (Michael Myers), while we are still awaiting official confirmation on Scout Taylor-Compton, Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch and Sheri Moon Zombie, although we're told it's pretty set in stone....
Well, again another cast member who got cut out the first time is back MARK CHRISTOPHER LAWRENCE is back as Deputy KIng a member of the Haddonfield police force.

^ Even funnier because it's true.
All I'm going to say is I hope this one is better than the last one. I'm not holding out much hope, especially since Rob didn't want to do this movie to begin with, but I'll wait to reserve judgment until I've at least seen a trailer.

Oh good God! Like the first film wasn't already a steaming pile, they're going to let this 5th rate hack make another one? Let me guess, it'll be littered with white trash and the word f*ck and sh*t ever fifth word, like all of Zombie's awful films. That's what he calls high art.
Why does Hollywood continue to allow this asshat anywhere near a studio? The only answer can be is that there are too many people stupid enough to pay to watch his garbage. No thanks.
Sorry for the extreme negativity, but somebody had to say it. The man has never made a film with one redeeming quality.

There's an interview floating around where Rob talks about his plans for H2 and it sounded pretty good. In a nutshell, it's like the aftermath, when Laurie, who essentially still doesn't even know what's going on at the end of the original, learns that, "oh, by the way, all of these people you know are dead, and your brother is a deranged serial killer psychopath."

From Bloody-Disgusting:
While Malcolm McDowell has openly admitted he's signed on for three Halloween films (as the role of Dr. Sam Loomis), he has still yet to officially come onboard Rob Zombie's H2. The star of A Clockwork Orange and TV's "Heroes" recently chatted at a recent SAG event about his role, which doesn't sound too promising. Read on for the skinny. H2 begins shooting in two weeks for release on August 28th.
Legendary actor Malcolm McDowell was the Guest of Honor at a SAG Foundation "Conversations" Event tonight in Hollywood, reports a reader of AICN. During the 2-hour proceedings, the British thespian discussed his career and touched on a variety of subjects... including his role in Rob Zombie's H2.
"Regarding "H2"; when the host of the event told McDowell he thought he did an amazing job of stepping into the role of Loomis and that he couldn't picture anyone else taking up the role besides him after the performance he gave in the first film, McDowell thanked him and told him "maybe you ought to tell that to the Weinsteins! We're in the middle of negotiating right now!" He then riffed on the notorious hard-bargaining of the Weinstein Brothers, "Those f*ckers!" He then chuckled and said he was, of course, kidding and said that Zombie, whom he called an "amazing director" (he said this twice during the event), wanted him back...even though McDowell himself thought Loomis must surely be dead...and that the Weinsteins are probably wishing Loomis WAS dead. The host prodded McDowell for plot details but McDowell insisted he had none to give, "I haven't read the script yet". He said all he knew was that the story supposedly takes place two months after the finale of the first film. He continued by saying Loomis won't be doing any chasing down of Myers, adding that pursuit will be left up to the "notorious Sheriff" and that Loomis' character "is in the middle of a book-tour." "

I don't understand. He admits that he is signed on for three Halloween films, so how can he NOT be signed for H2?

Also, most multi-movie contracts don't specify the salary as no one knows IF there is an H3, what the budget will be. So each film has it's own salary negotiations.

I've got to admit, the more casting news that comes out of this film the less interested I get. Bill Moseley, again? Rob, seriously, try getting creative with a script before you worry about a who's who to comprise your cast.
