NO WHITE MASK IN H2?

Sources close to Rob Zombie while keeping tight lipped about details have revealed that Zombie (who recently signed on to direct Halloween 2) is leaning towards not using the famous "white" mask that the Halloween franchise has been built on. While he will utilize the mask in the opening sequence plans are either to use no mask at all or another style mask that Tyler Maine (Michael Myers) will adorn this fall.

The first Zombie Halloween movie was pure torment to sit through. One of the absolute worst and most tiresome movies I've ever seen. So, this gets a big .

The remake of the original was terrible, so I'll pass on this.

They almost fucked up royally by not using the signature Halloween music for the first one if I remember right, I SERIOUSLY hope they come to their senses in this case as well and stick with the white mask.

First off, it already has been confirmed that Rob Zombie is making this sequel from an entirely original script and not following the original H2 sequel with the hospital. Im definately looking forward to this I like the feel of realism with Zombie's films. The remake wasnt spectacular but it was definately better than most of the horror remakes nowadays. I did think that Tyler Mane is way too f'n tall for Michael Myers! Rob, whatever you do keep the white mask it wont be the same!!

I rather he do another H100C "original" idea than stay in the Halloween territory.
All he did the first time was take those and incorporate it into a Halloween movie.
His "grungy" retro style IMO serves no place in the Halloween franchise...

Will we see more Brad Dourif in the sequel? I hope so, he was one of the only good things in the remake.

Anyway, I probably won't see the sequel.

Wow just read the part of no mask. Hmmm I don't know that's his signature mark.

I wouldn't want him walking around with a mustache or a freaking mullet.

I hope the rumor of no white mask isn't true. I thought the remake was just ok, not great, but ok. I'm interested in seeing what Zombie will do, but if he gets rid of the mask then he's a complete moran.

Over 4,000 posts on this forum and you aren't familiar with the term moran?

It was an intentional spelling error. Been hanging around "Otter" too much.

Rob Zombie can't make a Halloween film for shit, it doesn't seem, because he just doesn't get it. You can't throw random exploitation scenes and subplots into any movie and think it's going to work and make things "realistic". Everything he does is a retread, and I don't criticize people for that often, but the difference is Zombie seems to think everything he does means something and is new. I hope it's good, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I really liked Devil's Rejects, but I just don't know about Zombie. He just seems to have a very narrow-minded view of what horror should be. I mean, he absolutely trashed Night of the Creeps on tv a few years back, calling it one of the worst he's ever seen... I admit it's cheesy and nowhere near being in the same league as Evil Dead or Reanimator, but it's still a fun little 80s flick despite its faults.

Yeah, if anything I found his version of Halloween [i]less[i] realistic than the original because he insisted of making Michael Myers into a towering goliath. The matter of fact way the '78 Myers went about things, and his average stature, made that version more effective. When you amp up everything like Zombie did, you just turn it into a cartoon. But Rob knows not of subtlety.

Posted on Bloody Disgusting...

UPDATE: Another casting notice just went out, read it inside. A casting call has already begun for Rob Zombie's H2, which begins filming January in Los Angeles, CA (man, that was fast!). Here's who they're casting so far: [HOWARD BOGGS] - Caucasian - 6'4" - age open. HOWARD is the huge, thick necked bouncer at the 'Rabbit in Red' night club. He's not a pierced-tattooed-rocker type, but more of a hard workin' fist fightin' beer drinkin' bouncer." The call reports that they "are starting on this right away, so please only submit people who are in town for the holidays and able to audition this week." It looks like Zombie has been writing the screenplay for quite sometime now. We're told Scout Taylor-Compton, Tyler Mane, Malcolm McDowell, Daeg Faerch and Sheri Moon Zombie will all be returning. The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

H2 is now casting: [HOSPITAL SECURITY GUARD] Male, 40s-50s – The security guard at a hospital.
