just saw the trailer on apple. Looks amazing. Never saw Chicago and ignored most of the early news on this despite Day-Lewis. I just hate musicals. I might see this though, looks like the perfect first musical to see in the theater.

when does this thing come out again? I'm only wanting to see this mostly cuz Day-Lewis is doing this. For some reason...I find it odd imagining him singing.

Cinema Italiano's a cool song, but the best new song, for me, is definitely Take It All (the one Cotillard sings).

Why do I have the feeling every male in the audience is going to be sitting in a strange position for those five minutes?

I'm surprised she could do it that well, but I'm not all that surprised that she can in general. Goldie herself has a really good voice, as she showed in Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You (even though Woody made her worsen it to make it more believable).

You would be correct.

She also seems to be a pretty good dancer.

I'm not a fan of musicals either, but this thing looks stunning.
You can't ask for a much better cast than this one.
I guess they put Fergie in it to see if they could draw the teenage girl crowd in or something.

I think Fergie is alright. I think her body is nice for sure though. She added weight I heard to play the part of the whore...interesting.

Well, most of the negative reviews are from top critics, so it ain't looking good for it. Interesting how several of the expected heavy hitters of awards season (Nine, Lovely Bones) are turning out to be stinkers. The Hangover might wind up being a legit Best Picture contender after all!

Yeah, but the globes have two areas for Best Picture, and given there are few musicals out there, it was a given this would be up for a lot at this ceremony. Remember, these are the same people who gave Best Picture noms to Evita, Phantom of the Opera, and acting awards to Madonna and Pia Zadora.
