Cautiously optimistic about this movie. I've yet to like any of Rian Johnson's work (save for an indistinguishable episode of Terriers) but know the potential is there (and he did S05E04 of Breaking Bad, as long as it isn't Fly pt 2 we're good.)

Brick was a great film!

Yeah. I was really really amazed w/ what Brick was. Couldn't believe that worked out..but at the same time...it could work out because the way personalities and how we think of things at that age are bigger to us..but really aren't in some ways.

I also really liked Brothers Bloom.

Brick was great and The Brothers Bloom was decent.

I probably won't see this though. I saw an interview with Johnson where he said he wrote the part for Gordon Levitt and then Bruce Willis became available and he couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with him. So that explains a whole lot.

I'm pretty excited to see this movie but I have a feeling I'll be pretty disappointed. I hope I'm wrong though.

I was looking this up on Yahoo movies to find out if it was playing in Oklahoma and saw that there was no rating listed. I looked on IMDB and there was nothing there either.

Re: Looper (Rian Johnson, 2010): "violent and dark" sci-fi

Rated R for strong violence, language, some sexuality/nudity and drug content.

They may be appealing it for a PG-13 rating, which would explain it not showing up, but as for now it's R (per the MPAA).

It's R, period. Reviews have said the violence is R worthy.

JGL in his Bruce makeup looks like Desmond Harrington from Dexter. I'm very excited to see this. Not for that reason... two separate thoughts... hmmm. Bye.

Really JGL's first reaction when he finds out Bruce Willis is him is to ask "How the FUCK did I go bald?"

Brick just didn't work for me. I love noir, murder mysteries, all that, and Brick had the right tone - but the pacing was off for me and I was never invested in anything going on.

...in otherwords, I found it boring. I wouldn't consider it a bad movie, it just wasn't for me.

Similarly, I hope Looper doesn't run into the same fate as Source Code. That movie was well hyped up, incredibly well reviewed, and looked good -- and then I didn't really care for it.

Except for the forced happy ending, I loved Source Code.
