Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

I wonder if Nolan has the balls to permanently disable Bruce WAyne, leaving the film open to have someone else take up the cowl? Seems unlikely WB would let him destroy Wayne, even if they do give him carte blanche.

I'm hoping this is the series' Rocky III... Batman gets his ass kicked, heals up in a Pit, then comes back to destroy everyone. But I feel like that's too much to hope for.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Well we've already had the rise and the fall, we don't need a re-rise, so him being really disabled is possible. Plus with all the re-booting going on I don't see them continuing this series as it is.

But he COULD cause that kind of damage...
Spoiler:
Didn't wayne get paralyzed in the comics, and then Rahs al guhl heals him in the lazarus pit? I didn't read the books but i've asked a lot of questions of friends who have

You do know the title, right?

I agree it is a very real possibility, though. Nolan said in an interview that this film would succinctly wrap up his trilogy, but would leave the door open for the series to continue. That hints to me of Wayne being a vegetable.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

There is one on "Batman On Film" that uses the Batman: The Animated Series and is a good recreation.

http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDKRis...e_7-19-11.html

I tried embedding it here but all I got was an "error" that the video was removed.

Fortunately YouTube has it thanks to the video's maker:

the end of the teaser seemed a little hokey to me, hopefully that part hits the cutting room floor. the rest was nice though.

Maybe the footage will look better once it's color corrected. Certainly doesn't look like the resolution we expect from the IMAX format.

Those are obviously not completed shots. Kinda surprised that WB decided to give us that money shot of Bane breaking Batman's back...

It also looks like this movie will flirt with an R-rating thanks to Bat's gesture at the end.

Highly doubtful. At the end of the day Batman is supposed to be a hero and we already got a downer ending to some degree with The Dark Knight. I think this movie has to show him rising up (hence the title) and becoming the hero that we know and that Gotham needs. I think it'd be really disappointing if Nolan chose to take a route like that to be honest. Plus let's face it Warner Bros. is probably going to be pretty opposed to something like that no matter how well Nolan's Bat movies have done for them. I'd bet that they may follow some of the story Nolan has set up whenever the next director and cast are in line to make their Batman movies even if they aren't direct sequels.

I dunno...Bane breaking him, Gotham gets worse, Batman comes back and kicks ass? Seems plausible.

that extended trailer is hilarious.

Getting a good vibe from this one already - the Dark Knight is actually a film I like more with each viewing.
