re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

The way Loeb presented her early on in her career is the version I like as a starting point.

I trust Nolan in anything he does on this. Unless he goes off the handle w/ control on the property or something...I don't see an issue. Kyle in or out of the suit, I'm sure Nolan will do justice to the character in whatever form. It's Tom Hardy as Bane that I'm really interested in. I'm really wanting Nolan to get Hardy to pump up to Bronson or bigger for sure. To have a guy like that and he's a great actor? Fuck yeah. No muscle suit please....let Hardy become Bane physically (well as possible). When it's real, it's just more interesting.

The idea of her being a prostitute?

Yeah, the origin of her being a stewardess is so much more realistic.

Still hoping they'll add in Talia.

I think Anne Hathway will do OK, just thought she was too busy for this, apparently not. Definitely curious what Nolan will do with her.

I totally forgot that bane was in the awful Batman & Robin movie.

You wouldn't clear your schedule for Nolan to do the follow-up to one of the biggest movies of all time?

As others have already mentioned, I like the casting choice of Anne Hathaway.

As for Bane, anything Nolan does with him will be an improvement from the Batman & Robin version.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

The only way the use of Bane would be worse than the one from "Batman and Robin" would be to cast Jack Black and have him dress up as a masked wrestler a la "Nacho Libre".

I would hope that it's the Selina we've seen in the last ten years in the comics. Ed Brubaker did a nice job re-inventing her character, and added some needed depth to her.

Hopefully, they'll also use her current comic book costume design (and not the awful Batman Returns/Catwoman movie ones):

There's nothing wrong with the Batman Returns costume, for Batman Returns. I don't want it in this movie, but Michelle Pfeiffer in that suit helped me become a man.

As long as she is wearing tight black leather, I don't care how the costume is put together.

I hope it's put together flimsily.

No kidding! WB was not sold on Pfeiffer getting that role. During a preproduction meeting Burton called WB execs to a meeting and showed them video of her in the costume and their jaws hit the floor.

That's not Cooke art, it's Michael Avon Oeming (you can see his sig next to her leg).

But it is the costume Cooke redesigned.

How is that in any way far different than what Pfeiffer wore in Returns?

Thing is, no matter what, I'm seeing it anyway. I mean, does it really matter who is cast or what villain is in it at this point?
