re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I would have preferred some of the other rumored actors, but I'm not upset or anything over the choice.

The only decent performance you listed was Last Days of Disco, and Sevigny blew her out of the water.
So to each his own.

No disrespect intended, but you are dead wrong. Sevigny was monotone throughout the whole damn film. I wondered at times if she had a pulse. I think she's a good actress. But she's done much better work. Beckinsale's performance in Nothing But the Truth was better than her quite good performance in Last Days of Disco. It's without question her best work. Snow Angels was a better performance as well.
So to each his own.

No, I'm actually 100% in agreement with you. She's a decent actor, but nothing more (and yes, I have seen Rachel Getting Married). Which is how I felt about Ledger, pre-Dark Knight.
These are presented as facts but

They'll CGI her to death, just like they've CGI'ed all the other actors in the last two Batman films?

No, you misunderstand. Nolan pulled a Lucas in his last two movies and had the actors real heads over CGI bodies. It was really distracting. No way those were Ledger's legs in that nurse's outfit that Suprmallet loves so much.
Yeah but he replaced Morgan Freeman with Shia Labouf.

Eh. Not really interested in Bane, would have preferred something like Strange or The Riddler or Black Mask. And it would have been cool to see Rutger Hauer come back in some capacity to bookend the series.

I will pull back the curtain for you. Nolan is known for disliking and avoiding CGI as much as possible, so your suggestion that she would be "CGI'd to death" is highly unlikely. This is the director who insisted on actually flipping a semi-truck on a Chicago street when most other modern directors would have just done it in CGI.

Hauer for what?! To be a Hobo w/ a fucking Shotgun?! He's out and no need for that character.
I'm game for AH for SK. Really interested into how bulked up Hardy will get for Bane. Will he get bigger than Bronson? Choosing Hardy I also think that he'll be the smart Bane we know from the comics and TAS. Loved him in TAS...well..the first time I think..the last time that was all a dream.

Yeah, I don't see why they would need Hauer to "bookend" anything. Most people probably forgot who he even was in the first movie.

Point taken! But Catwoman is a different beast entirely. Of course this all hinges on how much action there will actually be in the film for Catwoman, and if they can get around that the way they did with Michelle Pfeiffer. These films are more realistic, so I don't think it will be a problem.
