The screenplay is irrelevant to how it played out on film.
I know it's quite possible they could bring Harvey Dent back but the intention was for him to be dead. |
re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Nolan doesn't strike me as the type to resurrect a character simply because another (Joker) isn't available.
As usual, I'm certain all of our rampant speculation will be off-base compared to what he actually plans to do. |

Yes to the first but no to the second.
Also....No Dent. His tale is done. |

Yeah..Hendricks can sure as hell be a Dr. Ivy, but no Jolie for Kyle. She'd have to gain weight to fill out a bit. No offence to Jolie, I think she's pretty and respect that she likes doing action films here and there..loved her in Wanted but....she don't exactly have look for Kyle. Randomly speaking...Coitillard looks a lot more like Kyle than Jolie does. Her only issue. Is that...well...I need to see her get past her accent. BUT if you just make her french well than that's fine as long as it's faithful to the rest of the character. She looked fucking gorgeous in Inception.
Also....No Dent. His tale is done. Now, if you want to go for total stunt casting that would have been done back in the days of Schumacher and Nolan would never try, get Lady GaGa as Harley Quinn to fill whatever was meant to be done by the Joker. |
re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
You don't have to make her literally POISON IVY...you can have her as person in Gotham City and also a doctor in her field. A nice little nod but also getting the character in there as respectfully as you can. I wouldn't want Ivy in there as a villain but if she was who she was BEFORE she went Supervillain..well...I'd be game.
Again..Coitillard would be a physically correct Catwoman. And if need be, you can say she's French. If not...I'd like to see her pull off that role without her accent. |

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Bringing back Dent could work but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I feel that his story was completed with TDK.
I don't want Ivy or Catwoman in on the next flick. I don't think that they would work. I think they should just go from scratch with the next with a new villain and all. There is enough stuff to be covered in the next film that we don't need another huge villain from the rogue’s gallery. In my opinion, the ones that could be done properly have been done. Then again, whatever Nolan chooses to do I'll go with because I have complete faith in him. :) I just really hope we get Levitt in the flick. :fc: |
re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I could see Ivy working as a doctor who believes humans are destroying the earth and develops several plant-based toxins to kill the worst offenders. She obviously would not work if she's controlling plants and whatnot.

I would like to see a serious take on what Schumacher had tried with Nygma being a competing legitimate billionaire while also being a mob boss. Doesn't have to be the Riddler, in fact, I'd prefer a Penguin character who is just called that as a nickname. And as much as I don't like Nolan's "My universe is separate from DC, it's all realistic" I would like to see something realistically involving fraud and corruption, a Robin-Hood storyline.

At that time, now successful mogul Bruce Wayne offered to bail out the company on the condition that Sionis give up control and allow Wayne to appoint his own Board of Directors. Sionis agreed, but was furious at the humiliation he had suffered. He went to the family mausoleum and broke his father's ebony coffin lid. From a piece of this, Sionis carved a mask, becoming "Black Mask". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Mask_%28comics%29 |

Only problem is that character wouldn't really fit with the realistic type universe Nolan has created, but then again, arguments could be made that Two-Face didn't really fit either given his level of deformity.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
I wouldn't be against Nolan bringing back Dent since his arc seemed to come to a close so quickly. More importantly, I just hope JGL gets a sizable role, preferably as a villain.

Could be Black Mask in that case. Sort of the opposite of Bruce Wayne IIRC since both were born from wealth but each of their parents were 180 degrees opposite of each other, meaning Sionis' parents were self-centered and only cared about their social status while the Waynes wanted to selflessly change Gotham. Here's something interesting that could be integrated as a foe for Bruce (from wikipedia):

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Solid Snake: that is more or less what I was working towards with Dr. Ivy. Not make her a major character, just a cameo thrown in as a shout out to the fans. Kind of along the lines of Zsas in Batman Begins. Again, Nolan is going for Batman's early years, so it's just acknowledging certain characters and events will occur, we just won't be seeing all of it. In that regard, Cotillard could work as well. Selina Kyle could just be someone Bruce Wayne encounters at social events and has some minor flirtations.

re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
God I love Cotillard. I've loved her since La vie en rose... So you're saying that you'd like to see her cameo as S Kyle?
|
re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)
Is this meant to be the final Nolan/Bale Batman film? If so, I'm not so sure if they would relegate such a popular character such as Catwoman to a cameo. Poison Ivy on the other hand I could see.

I'd love to see her as Selina Kyle, but I also don't want the movie to get bogged down with characters. The second worked Two-Face in as an integral part of the third act and he made sense. I could see them taking the same approach with Catwoman. Since Rachel is dead, Selina could easily fill the female lead spot. Riddler could work as the main villain, and then Batman could get help from Catwoman at the end. I'm really only down for the Ivy cameo if they got Christina Hendricks for the role. And if she has a drink with Selina played by Cotillard....and they had a bit too much and started making out... I need to go change.... |
