Thought the new trailer was pretty good....loved how low key it was - that was awesome.

I'm so glad they didn't make Hardy pile on too much muscle for this flick - I think the look is perfect.

Not really sure what the hell to make out of catwoman though....throughout the trailer I just kept wondering "What was the point of including her?" but, we'll see soon enough.

The movie seems to be dealing with themes of class warfare, so it makes sense to include her.

It was. They also downplayed the "muffled through a gas mask" sound (most pronounced when he says "I'm Gotham's reckoning") form the previous trailer and prologue, and added some bass (more like a deep rumble) to his voice when he utters the line "your punishment must be more severe".

I thought the same thing, but decided to keep quiet. Didn't want the Nolan worshippers to start something like:

-So first you're saying "He's inaudible, this is going to suck," now you're saying "He's obviously dubbed, that's bad filmmaking." Just admit it, you don't like Nolan.

Despite the fact that I do like Nolan, I just had trouble understanding Bane initially. ;)

Darth Vader was dubbed, was that bad filmmaking for 3 of the 4 films he appeared in?

;)

:D

:D

Yes but not because of the dubbing *runs*

This to me is all minor, I just hope the movie is good.

Well, hearing his voice coming through the mask is more realistic and sinister, because right now, it sounds like it was overdubbed. Maybe it's just 'cause I got used to the previous trailer and prologue though.

But it's for the best, because even simple things like "of course" sounded to me like, "ahvklaus."

I understood Bane fine in the prologue...some people are just so sensitive.

That or maybe some people just have better hearing than others.

I could hear Bane but it was still difficult for me to decipher what the hell he was saying. Clearly a lot of people felt the same way for Nolan to have re-dubbed the entire film to clear it up.

It could just be for the trailer. Nolan already publicly stated that while they were still working on the audio, he wouldn't change Bane's voice. I think most of the issues with the prologue came from the loud ambient noise from the aircraft, the CIA agent was drowned out a bit as well. And there's also some backlash against how Bane's voice sounds in the new trailer: too obviously dubbed. So who knows what will happen between now and July.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

The whole trailer had most of the background noise, etc., purposely muted until it crescendo'd in the the last quarter. Nice touch.

Yes, that's what it is.

Sigh.

Bet you someone in the theater is going to yell "what did he just say!?"

Then some dude is gonna reply "HE'S GOTHAM'S RECTUM!"

Here we (possibly) go again... :horse:

Having re-watched the bootleg prologue that was supplied to me by other means ;) , it is a bit more audible, but only because I have seen it so much and read transcripts . I will admit to thinking the muffled voice does actually work in context, but I swear I still cannot undersand what he says

Interesting theory about John Blake (possibly discussed already).

Spoiler:
While Bruce is in prison, John Blake takes up the Batman mantle. At some point he is killed, and shortly after Bruce returns as Batman to reclaim Gotham from Bane.

John Blake's role confirmed:

But seriously though, John Blake does share the same first name as Jean Paul Valley from the comics, just spelled differently. It could be a coincidence, but maybe not. I think they just didn't want to use the name Jean Paul Valley in the movie because then it would be too obvious what is going to happen, so they changed it to John Blake.

Interesting. I've never read Knightfall, but it seems obvious that JGL must be more than just a cop. I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
