Precisely.

It has nothing to do with banning anyone outright, just getting some people to either back off, or admit what their real intention is, which is indeed trolling.

Edit:

A person could be trolling this thread, but be perfectly fine and informative in another.

*shrugs*

And I think that people who constantly antagonize someone they clearly don't like by posting meaningless one-word posts like "Shocker!" in response to my arguments (auto), or someone who posts incorrect information just to call other posters "Whiny bitches" (Nick Martin) should be similarly reprimanded or suspended.

The mod does not agree with that either, so be it. However, to argue that it isn't technically against forum rules is, to quote myself here, "utterly ridiculous".

Too bad my intention isn't to troll. Once again, I don't understand Bane's voice. When people like you call people like me "whiny bitches" and then scream and demand that he is fully understandable, I will argue to the contrary. Do you understand this yet?

You continue to call me a whiny bitch and insult me, and to insult all of those who don't understand Bane, and I will continue to argue against you, because you are not the end all be all authority on Bane's voice. It's as simple as that.

Are you ever not sitting at your computer poised to reply to anyone who calls you out for trolling?

Dare you not to reply.

I'm going to do you one better and report you. Ignore me or get back on topic. Preferably both. I've also placed you on ignore starting now.

Mod Note: Okay, here's what I'm going to do. From this point on, all posts will be about The Dark Knight Rises. Anyone who cannot play nice will be dealt with at my discretion. That means, even if they're not technically breaking the forum rules, they're going to get disciplined anyway. That includes the people who are complaining about the posting behavior of other posters. If this thread can't get back on track I'll close it, suspend the appropriate people, and start a new one. The only acknowledgement I need that you've read this post is for you to resume normal discussion without anymore diversions, arguments about this, or interruptions.

So this movie could be very interesting to see what they do to Bruce Wayne to cause him to have to rise at some point.

This is a Batman movie set in Gotham City with Batman in it, dressed up as Batman. Can't wait!

We've beat the Bane voice thing to death so I could care less about the prologue being "fixed". I'm sure we can all just agree that we hope everyone can understand him in the final product.

If not, then WB can charge a premium on the showings with open captions.

If everyone did agree on it, people wouldn't be defending the existing voice to death

Look, everyone just needs to calm the fuck down in this thread. As Rodney Bane would say "Can't we all just blargle bleaergh?"

Huh. That's an interesting opinion.

Maybe he's gonna watch it on mute and just make up his own dialogue for Bane. Kinda like when you watch a cheesy old school kungfu flick on cable.

Maybe we should contact Warner Bros. about that. You should suffer like the rest of us...

Re: The Dark Knight Rises (Nolan)

Considering there are home video captures of Bane's voice taken from Heinz Field, meaning it's unprocessed, coming through loudspeakers and recorded into phones and video cameras and is understandable, it's definitely a case of background noise overpowering his dialogue.

His tone of voice is very unusual, as if he's high or in constant pain and trying to control it.

Listen here:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kR4hVwDhbIg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

There are several different videos of the same scene, and some are of different takes where the line readings aren't spoken the same way.

"Smoking Hole" sounds like a good name for a band.
