Spoiler:
Supposedly he just gets up, dusts himself off, and resumes causing havock and mayhem right after the first film ended, Jam Master Jay.

As for Transporter 3, as long as it's good mindless fun (like the first two) and Frank does some actual transporting (unlike the second film), I'll watch it.

Lionsgate packs up 'Transporter'
Studio nabs rights to third film in franchise
By WINTER MILLER

Lionsgate has spirited away domestic and Canadian rights to the third “Transporter” movie starring Jason Statham (“Crank”).

Actioner also stars Robert Knepper (“Prison Break”) and returning cast member Francois Berleand (“Place Vendome”). Principal photography in France and Russia wrapped in early May, and the movie is in post-production.

Helmed by Olivier Megaton (“The Red Siren”), pic was scripted by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen and produced jointly by Besson’s EuropaCorp, TF1 Films Prods., Grive Prods. and Apipoulai Production, in association with Current Entertainment.

Lionsgate has announced a Thanksgiving release, with Canada’s Maple Pictures distributing in the Great White North. Lionsgate’s Jason Constantine, acquisition veep Eda Kowan and legal exec VP Wendy Jaffe negotiated the deal with Le Pogam on behalf of the producers.

Combined worldwide box office for the franchise thus far exceeds $130 million.

Kind of funny that at this point he's known as T-Bag, the one-armed pedophile that everyone loves to hate. After seeing Hitman he just seems to have a bead on playing scumbag characters.

Comingsoon.net has the release date at November 26,2008. Seems a little soon if they are just starting filming.

Same sentiment as mostly everyone. First was very entertaining, second was pure garbage.

Statham needs to do something. Although I've heard good things about The Bank Job he has just done nothing but pure crap as of late. "In the Name of the King" anyone? How bout some "War" or "Crank"? Didn't think so.

Movie is in POST production. Already shot.

And I think a lot of people liked Crank. I know I did and I'm anxiously awaiting the sequel.

I am not ashamed to admit to seeing Crank twice in theaters. The type of gloriously over-the-top and ridiculous action movie that only shows up sporadically now.

How can you NOT like a movie where the first thing you hear is "Bang Your Head (Metal Health)" and a dude goes after someone with a meat cleaver while Loverboy blasts in the background?

Anyone that takes these for more than they are doesn't appreciate a mindless action flick.

I enjoy the first two (I'm watching part 2 right now, actually) and loved Crank - I know they're making a sequel to that too.. should be a lot of fun.

One would think that in comparison it would have looked like a masterpiece.

I really disliked the first one and thought the second one was pretty good here and there. Curious to see a third one but I don't expect cinematic gold.

Nope. I loved Shoot 'em Up and Smokin' Aces. I thought Crank was as bad as they come. The only thing memorable about it was the "gettin it on" in public scene.

I hope this is more traditional action rather than some weird quick cut/CG camera scenes. I'm thinking more of the fight in the train/bus depot instead of chasing the plane down on the runway in the second.

I was going to say it's a long wait, but 4 and a half months isn't that bad. Especially since the rest of the summer movie season will probably fly by.

This isn't the same weekend as Potter, is it?

I seriously think Lionsgate should just be renamed to 'Jason Statham/Saw Pictures'...

I liked all three, but I'd definitely say I was most amused at Crank. I thought Smokin' Aces tried a little too hard, was overly complicated for such an apparent ending, and concluded melodramatically, and Shoot 'Em Up was a little too broad for my tastes. Or perhaps it was an issue of tone -- either it's not darkly comic enough or it's slightly too goofy.

I think Crank has the most stylish direction of the three, and the most easygoing sense of humor about itself. And the casting was quite excellent.

I agree with you that Crank sucked, but I thought the the "gettin it on" scene was gratuitously added to the film to cater to the lowest common denominator.

Believe me, I love a good sex scene and that was not. That scene pretty much cemented (in my mind) how bad the movie was and I had high hopes for it.

Looks pretty cool to me. I thought that 2 was a bit much (the flipping car/bomb sequence took it to far) but I didn't really see anything QUITE as unbelievable in this teaser, so I'll give it another shot. I'm a big fan of Statham as an action star.

The first "Transporter" was just o.k. I'd give it a 6/10. The second one was absolute shit. And I'd give that one a 2/10. I hope this is closer to the first.
