Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Well I just a few days ago saw Tron for the first time; it was interesting, definitely has potential for a present-day sequel. But the description someone posted earlier from Apple's site for it was confusing:
TRON is a 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world that’s unlike anything ever captured on the big screen. Sam Flynn (GARRETT HEDLUND), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (JEFF BRIDGES), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (OLIVIA WILDE), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous. So apparently Jeff Bridge's character went back into the virtual world shortly after his first adventure and then never came back out? (it says for 27 years and it was about 27 years ago since we're assuming this is a 2010 set timeline). But in the description (unless its a typo) first says the son, Sam, goes into the virtual world to look for his father. But then it says father and son journey across a visually-stunning blah blah blah. I don't know, that part was a bit confusing. Also, the trailer site also is titled "VFX Concept Test" does anyone what that means? And I agree that the "winner" in the trailer, the one who says "not anymore" is a young Jeff Bridges. Very curious about that... |

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
the UK's New Musical Express notes that Daft Punk (while doing the film's soundtrack) will also appear in the actual film - tres cool!

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
I saw a poster at the cinemark theatres over the weekend that showed Tron Legacy coming in 3D on 12/17/2010. So far away... :(
Edit: Now AICN has the new poster and it says JUNE!! http://www.aintitcool.com/node/42860 |

Now they're just playing with my emotions.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
A summer release would be great as long as it didn't get buried among a bunch of sequels and other blockbusters.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
So stupid to show a poster of a movie that will show a year later. Wtf? Like people are gonna remember.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Where is the new poster? I couldn't find it.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
So.. no one is playing the ARG?
Flynnlives and all that jazz. Got to see the trailer at the bridge today that will be playing infront of Alice of next week. Completely looks amazing. Q&A with the director also which was pretty good. Not all that informative other than Daft Punk will be in it. Expect a Flynn's arcade at Disney. |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
Forgive me if this is redundant, but is the original available on Blu-Ray, or will it be a deal where it won't come out until the new one is about to hit theaters? Curious.
Also, will Master Control make a return? He was a cool villain. |
Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
From everything I've heard, the original is coming to Blu later this year.

Re: Tron 2 Announced at SDCC!!
This teaser got a big pop yesterday, which surprised me as a typical matinee crowd full of children and families doesn't seem like the type that would recognize this franchise. Guess it's gained a bigger following than most thought.
