Great news about Rourke. Not happy about Johansson.

Why in God's name do they feel the need to combine those two characters?

Neither do I. Perhaps they felt that alone neither character was that interesting. Then again, isn't Crimson Whiplash (or whatever the hell they'll call him) only going to be an over-glorified henchman and Sam Rockwell's character will be the real baddie?

I'll watch anything Scarlett is in.

Considering I was planning on watching Iron Man 2 anyway, it's win win!

Meh, not sure about Scarlett in this role. She's a pretty good actress though, so I do have faith she will deliver acting wise. Not sure if she's a good fit visually. Whatever, as long as Stark/Pepper have good back and forth, I'll enjoy this.

Oh and the action scenes, because I think this film is going to have them right? /sarcasm

I don't know anything about Black Widow, but if we get Scarlett in any of the outfits that google pulls up then I'll be very impressed.

So Mickey Rourke is playing the Marvel villain Whiplash with elements of Crimson Dynamo...and what does this mean:

A red-armored suit (Crimson Dynamo) with steel whips (Whiplash)?

Filming starts Monday, and Garry Shandling (!?!?!?) and John Slattery (Roger Sterling!) have joined the cast.

I am not onboard with Scarlett playing Black Widow, total mis-cast to me. Scarlett is too short and too curvy for the role, plus I doubt she'll be believable as a spy with Russian/slavic heritage, just too WASPy for the role. Boo.

+1

I couldn't believe she was even being cosidered for the role. I was shocked when she actually got it.

Stana Katic (Kate Beckett on "Castle" on ABC) might have been a better choice as Black Widow.

The casting of Johannsen is like the bizarro version for the casting of Dunst. Dunst did not have the curvy party girl figure of MJ, she's a fucking toothpick..horrible casting. Now SJ is too curvy of woman to play the slim and sexy Widow. Man, That 1st pic of Stana Katic is a great pic, never heard of her btw, but damnit that is the Black Widow. I love the way she's currently drawn in the Captain America comics...

From the NY Post:

"SCARLETT JOHANSSON IS THINNING OUT"

SAY it ain't so, ScarJo!

Sultry Scarlett Johansson is getting rid of her famous curves. Eyes popped Tuesday night at Moet & Chandon's "Tribute to Film" soiree at London's Big Sky Studios when the "very slim" actress, who's married to Ryan Reynolds, strutted in wearing a tight, black minidress. "She was talking to Thandie Newton about the rigid diet she's on," our spy said of the star of the upcoming "Iron Man 2." Joseph Fiennes, Eva Herzigova and Marc Newson were all there and ogling Johansson, who "was really working it," according to our snitch.

I'll reserve judgement until I see some pics. Personally, I'm not too optimistic as she doesn't seem to have the body type that would be well suited to a slim physique. Some women look best slim and others curvy. It's rarely interchangeable.

If Scarlett gets to her THE ISLAND looks, then it could be good..

She looked there exactly the same as in any other movie. The only difference was the blond hair.
