I'm willing to give Renner a chance with this, he definitely knows how to play an edgy bad ass which this does require. He definitely gives off an old school Steve McQueen vibe. My guess is that Renner will do lots of Bourne type stuff throughout the movie and we might get a Damon cameo of sorts at the end , maybe through a voicemail or something. Whatever happens I see them ending with a reminder that Jason Bourne is still alive and well then striking up Extreme Ways as the credits roll.

I wouldn't say Renner was "headlining" that movie. Sure, he was the lead and he did an okay job with it, but "starring Jeremy Renner" wasn't used as a draw to entice anyone to see The Hurt Locker. People went to see it (well, some people did--it didn't do very big business) because of the subject matter, or because of the critical acclaim and the awards it received, not because of Jeremy Renner.
The question is, will his presence draw an audience to a movie? We might find out with The Bourne Legacy, although it will be easy to pin any success on the momentum of the Bourne franchise, while a failure will be blamed on Renner.

I've been a fan of Renner since he was on that ABC cop show The Unusuals a few years ago. I'm glad he's getting a bunch of work now.

Very effective trailer and I loved the music used. Even though Damon isn't in this, I think it'll be a hit due to the brand name. The Bourne series is very popular, and Ultimatum left a positive impression on fans. I think it'll carry over.

I guess I was one of the few that did not like Damon in this role. Then again, I felt the whole franchise was a rehash of Renny Harlin's "A long kiss goodnight" with a gender reversal.
If Damon's out, I might be interested.

After watching Safe House the other day I suggest that Daniel Espinosa direct the follow up to Legacy next. It was like watching a Bourne film - even the aesthetics were identical.

Really dig what we're getting here. The ONLY thing I kind of twitch from is
Otherwise...really dig Norton w/ grey hair and everything else.

So this takes place during the events of the last movie? That's pretty cool.
Looking forward to it.

This looks really good. Is Bourne open to coming back after Legacy? Would be a pretty epic movie to have Bourne and Cross either go after each other or work together .

They played this well, MI4 was a great "introduction" to Renner on a massive action movie scale. This movie looks much better than it should.
