As others have said this is very sad news and he was indeed too young.
I was pretty shocked when a buddy of mine told me about this today.

I called into E sirius sat station and commented on him and if batman would be affected...
they said that batman is done and is just getting the special effects finalized.... it should have no impact

Apparently, Heath had an appointment set up for 3:30pm EST with a masseuse. No signs of drinking were observed by police (reported in NYT), and no other (illegal) drugs found on scene. Prescription sleeping pills found on scene. He was found facedown on a bed.
Initially, this don't look like a suicide to me.

That said, as with any death thread on these forums (or any forums for that matter), I think people need to relax. Yes it's a tragic thing to happen, but some people just treat shock with a little humor, and like was mentioned before, since none of us here knew him personally, it isn't exactly as though we should all be heartbroken or entirely remorseful to the point of eulogizing him. Nor do i think anyone means to be intentionally hateful.
It's like, the Internet, man.

Wow, just heard about this by seeing this thread. I had to research it on my own, but seeing it was already 7 pages @ 40 posts long already I kind of already knew.
That's sad news, he seemed like a really nice guy in interviews and stuff.

There are some celebrities you have automatic pass for making fun of. I don't think Heath was the type to get such a pass. Maybe Brit, Lindsay, and those types, but Heath didn't seem to be the kind wishing for attention.

What do you think the ramifications of cheating are, from the fan's perspective? People wouldn't hold athletes in such high regard. Celebrities in this case are similar.

All I know is you jumped into the thread saying he's a moron for dying. Wonderful.
He's a method actor, he gets into his character. Hell, if Bale died during the machinist would you have said the same thing "That dumbass, shouldn't have let himself get into a starving unhealthy role!"
Nice way to back peddle your comments. Next time how about you save any lashings till after we get the facts?

And what the hell does Christian Bale role have to do with this?
All the initial reports were saying it could be a suicide. Go read them. Even at this point it still looks like a suicide.

At least, as more and more news about this comes in, it looks like Ledger won't be looked upon as anything less than a fine, upstanding citizen who suffered an accident. My mother nearly died of pneumonia and the medication she was on was insanely strong (to help with the chest congestion among other things) and it's obvious that Ledger wasn't supervised enough when taking such strong medicine if it turns out he indeed had pneumonia.

If I had to bet, that's where I'd place my money once everything is said and done.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was shocked by a celebrity's death.
It's going to be weird watching Batman: The Dark Knight knowing that we'll never get another performance from Heath, unless Terry Gilliam can put something together in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Michelle and Matilda are in my thoughts. I hope they have the courage to get through this tough ordeal.
R.I.P. Heath.

I actually have none, but I found a copy of the SE of Brokeback Mountain a few weeks ago, and thought about getting it. I'm defintiely going to get The Dark Knight , which I'm confident will be a great movie.

I say either Haley Joel Osment is next, or maybe even the young kid from the first Jurassic Park movie.
Anyway, pretty shocking news. But if it was a suicide, then he was a selfish prat. Regardless, if THE DARK KNIGHT is even remotely good it will be lionized eternally as the last bombastic flash of a promising young actor's life.
Poor Terry Gilliam.

Yikes. I feel old now even though I'm 28 days younger than Heath.
