I was thinking if they tied this into Lost that'd simultaneously be cool and a total cheat.

Enough about that though - so camera batteries don't last an hour and a half... discuss.

Loved this film. It was also my first DLP presentation experience and I thought it was fantastic. The surround sound was great as well. Definitely plenty of intense moments and Hud provides some great comic relief. A very creative effort.

Good film. Not the greatest but it definitely has some replay value. I thought the special effects blended very well, more so than some of the big blockbusters of recent memory. I thought the acting was pretty good for this type of film and the pacing was excellent.
By the way, the theater was dead today and there were about 4 other people in the whole theater. I have a feeling the hype was a one week deal or people are just avoiding this because of the whole motion sickness deal. I personally didn't think it was that bad.
I just wanted to add that this movie SHOULD NOT have a sequel. I think any explanations would really ruin this movie. I mean, what explanation could they possibly come up with that we haven't seen a hundred times before? What makes this film enjoyable is the fact that we have no knowledge outside of what the characters know. We are just going along for the ride.

Unless Paramount holds it, then switches over to Blu-Ray.

I have a friend who won't see this for that very reason.

Finally got to see it tonight...the theater had several warnings at the ticket booth and at the entrance way, with printed out 8.5x11 signs saying "CAUTION: Cloverfield may cause motion sickness." One sign near the entrance even had a little hand-drawn icon of a stick figure praying to the porcelain god
For what it's worth, my wife, who can get motion sickness on an elevator, did just fine watching it. We did sit near the back of the theater though, so YMMV.
I freakin' loved this film. The effects were great, Hud's narration throughout...overall it was just a blast. I had been geared up for it for so long, and it definitely didn't disappoint.
