I'd never heard of it before seeing the trailer today. Looks interesting though.

They started playing that trailer like in September/October last year. Was it originally supposed to come out in December?

Never seen the trailer nor know anything about the film, but I've discovered in recent years that I enjoy films if I know little to nothing about them going in. I'll see where this one leads me.

We're in such a dead movie time that I honestly can't wait for this. As long as it doesn't completely bomb with reviewers across the board, I'll be there. I love how it just has the feel of one of those throwaway February/March movies that you know won't be great and you just hope they don't ruin what looks to be an interesting premise.

I can't wait for this movie...
so that the trailer isn't put before every movie in existence from now on. Seriously, it's like a law for theaters to have this trailer before every movie. No Country, There Will Be Blood, Rambo, Walk Hard, Sweeney Todd, American Gangster...virtually every movie I've seen has had this trailer, and I'm starting to unwillingly memorize this like I'm Rain Man or something. On that note...
TWO WEEKS TO VANTAGE POINT! TWO WEEKS TO VANTAGE POINT!

I've seen the trailer for this way too many times over the last month or two. And as a result, the dialogue gets funnier and funnier.
"I...I think I saw something!12111"
"STOP...REWIND that!"
"We...weren't there."

"The President has been shot!"
"WHAT was on that tape?"
This is why it looks so ridiculously bad: it's from the producer of xXx, Torque, and The Fast and the Furious 1-3. Fuck my life.
Not since The Wicker Man has a movie looked so ham-fisted that you'd swear the movie was about ribs.

PG-13 rating; 90 minute run time.....Onto my Netflix queue you shall go.
This could be the first year in at least 10 years I have not seen a 2008 theatrical release in theaters until May.

At first I kind of wanted to see this. But after being forced to sit through that shitty, cliched trailer a hundred times, I've decided against it.
Who exactly are the marketing douche bags that though showing the EXACT SAME TRAILER in front of EVERY SINGLE MOVIE was a good idea?
Typically, when a studio wants to bombard moviegoers with ads for one film, they try and mix things up a bit. They'll start things off with a teaser trailer and then there might be two or three full trailers. Sometimes the different trailers will emphasize different aspects of the movie, etc.
But with Vantage Point, someone along the line said: "We're just going to have one trailer, and we'll show it in front of every movie that gets released in the next twelve months. That'll mean big $$$."
Well, there's at least one person that would have gone to see it, but now specifically will not see it because of this idiotic marketing. It's too bad. It might actually be a good movie.
