I liked the idea of the old time Cenobites that were cut from Bloodline.

Yes.
Completely agree! For being a "bad" film there's a lot of good in it.
Another good idea.
An actual Lady Pinhead? Is this her? From the Boom! comic series?
If it's based on the source material and not a passing trend, I say go for it.
I was rolling my eyes at the title of this article, but the author makes a good argument.
In the Hellraiser comics from Epic there were multiple cenobites, some of them female. I would rather they had a female cenobite with her own look, but Lady Pinhead is cool too.
No.

I'm confused, didn't they already have female cenobites with their own looks, in all the movies?

re: Hellraiser (2022, D: Bruckner)
I'm assuming if they're going to do a reboot or remake, they're not going to want to use one of the side cenobite characters like Female, Butterball, or Chatterer. And they're definitely not going to use Angelique from a b-movie box office bomb.
But instead of just a gender swapped Pinhead, why not go a step further and make it a new cenobite altogether, with a whole new look? A new story too, and not just a redo of the "Hellbound Heart"?
A little NSFW-ish

Spoiler:
The last one is overly-sexualized, but the face design and wings are pretty interesting. I doubt anything like that will happen though because "iconic" is what communicates fastest to audiences. And Pinhead has an iconic look.

The filmmaking team behind Sundance Film Festival sensation The Night House are reuniting to tackle Spyglass Media’s re-imagining of 1980s horror classic, Hellraiser.
David Bruckner, who directed Night House as well as sections of horror anthologies V/H/S and Southbound, will helm the feature which will have a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.
David Goyer, one of the producers of Night House, is writing the story and producing via his Phantom Four banner alongside Keith Levine.
Hellraiser was written and directed by Clive Barker, adapting his own novella, The Hellbound Heart. The 1987 movie introduced audiences to a puzzle box that opens a gateway to a horrific world and Cenobites, mutilated beings dedicated to torture and led by one nicknamed Pinhead. The movie quickly achieved cult status, spawning a franchise that would encompass ten movies, comics, and merchandise, with Pinhead and his visage at the center of it.
While details of Spyglass’ take were not revealed, the company is describing the reboot as “loyal, yet evolved.”

Hulu has solved the puzzle box, acquiring the forthcoming Hellraiser remake from Spyglass Media, Bloody Disgusting learned today.
Announced last spring, David Bruckner, who will see his festival hit The Night House release this Aug. through Searchlight, will bring upon the return of the Cenobites from a screenplay that reteams him with Night House‘s Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski.
Bruckner helmed Netflix’s The Ritual as well as sections of Bloody Disgusting’s horror anthologies V/H/S and Southbound. Collins & Piotrowski were also behind our V/H/S spinoff, SiREN, as well as the phenomenal coming-of-age thriller Super Dark Times.
The original Hellraiser was written and directed by Clive Barker, an adaptation of his own novella, The Hellbound Heart. As previously explained by The Hollywood Reporter, the 1987 indie “introduced audiences to a puzzle box that opens a gateway to a horrific world and unleashes Cenobites, mutilated beings dedicated to torture and led by one nicknamed Pinhead.”
A “Hellraiser” series is also in the works at HBO Max with David Gordon Green (Halloween, Halloween Kills) directing the pilot and “several more initial episodes,” and Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) writing alongside Mark Verheiden (“Battlestar Galactica”). Clive Barker will executive produce. It’s unclear how involved Barker will be in the feature remake.
Spyglass is behind the next Scream with other V/H/S and Southbound filmmakers, Radio Silence, who also helmed the hilarious horror comedy Ready or Not.

Spyglass was formed partially from the private equity acquisition of the Weinstein Company, "interestingly". Also, I hope they rely on practical effects. What freaks me out the most in the first few films is how visceral and "fleshy" everything feels.

Going direct to Hulu doesn’t give me a lot of confidence that it’ll be any better than the other direct to video films. I suppose though this isn’t the easiest film franchise to market for a theatrical release.

Not that surprising to me. We’ve seen female Cenobites before. I don’t really mind that Pinhead will be a female. My bigger concern is still that this is going directly to Hulu, and that Goyer is attached.

Works for me. In the original novel (Hellbound Heart) Pinhead or "Lead Cenobite" was androgynous. Jaime is trans, so they're playing in the middle ground.
The new Predator film is also debuting on HULU, so don't understand what the big deal is. The movie will have a more than adequate budget.

re: Hellraiser (2022, D: Bruckner)
Doug Bradley is so iconic in the role of Pinhead that I think it's going to be next to impossible to recast the part, much like Freddy Krueger and Robert Englund.
Bradley's face and voice just exuded so much quiet, impersonal menace that it's going to be hard to reboot the franchise. He's just chilling and unsettling, and probably the scariest of the old-school franchise monsters.
You can put a hockey mask or Captain Kirk mask on just about anyone, but cats like Pinhead and Freddy had personality that came through their performances.

After seeing The Night House, I'm not worried about this. Can't be any worse than all those sequels.
Clayton was good on Sense8.

It's also filming in Serbia, so they are getting maximum tax incentives. It'll have a low enough budget but look grand. Like Crawl did. That only cost like 13.5 million and looked like a bigger budgeted film.

“Hellraiser,” a reimagining of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror classic from director David Bruckner, will debut in the U.S. exclusively on Hulu on October 7.
A Hulu Original, in association with Spyglass Media Group, the film reunites Director David Bruckner, Screenwriters Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski, Writer/Producer David S. Goyer and Producer Keith Levine, all of whom were teamed on 2020’s “The Night House,” along with Producers Clive Barker and Marc Toberoff and Executive Producers Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre and Todd Williams. Chris Stone serves as co-producer.
In “Hellraiser,” a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.
The ensemble cast includes Odessa A’zion (“Fam,” “Grand Army”), Jamie Clayton (“The L Word: Generation Q,” “Sense8”), Adam Faison (“Everything’s Gonna Be Okay,” “Yes Day”), Drew Starkey (“Outer Banks,” “The Devil All the Time”), Brandon Flynn (“Ratched,” “13 Reasons Why”), Aoife Hinds (“The Long Call,” “Normal People”), Jason Liles (“Stereoscope,” “Rampage”), Yinka Olorunnife (“The Transporter”), Selina Lo (“Boss Level,” “Q8 Unleashed”), Zachary Hing (“Halo”), Kit Clarke (“Leonardo”), with Goran Visnjic (“The Boys,” “Timeless”) and Hiam Abbass (“Succession,” “Blade Runner 2049”).

Thought there was going to be more to that video. I might watch this. There’s only a handful of films in the franchise I kind of like. Definitely not a huge fan even though Doug Bradley is iconic as Pinhead.

Nothing more infuriating than clicking on a video you think it going to be a trailer (or at least a teaser) and there being absolutely nothing whatsoever.
It feels like more of a troll than anything.
