I’m not a Hellraiser fan but those pics do look pretty good. The second one in that series looks particularly cool.

Given how crappy so many films in this franchise have been, don't want to get excited for this. But those pics look good.

"The next Crow will be a return to form"! Nope. Maybe this remake will be solid. But we also had "eh that was pretty good" remakes of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Thing, The Fog, and a hundred others. It's hard to ever return to the same feelings of an original. I remember seeing Hellraiser on Sci-Fi channel when I was a kid. The intrigue for the grotesque characters and terrified feelings made me so uncomfortable.

A Hulu Original, in association with Spyglass Media Group, the film reunites Director David Bruckner, Screenwriters Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski, Writer/Producer David S. Goyer and Producer Keith Levine, all of whom were teamed on 2020’s “The Night House,” along with Producers Clive Barker and Marc Toberoff and Executive Producers Gary Barber, Peter Oillataguerre and Todd Williams. Chris Stone serves as co-producer.
In “Hellraiser,” a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.
The ensemble cast includes Odessa A’zion (“Fam,” “Grand Army”), Jamie Clayton (“The L Word: Generation Q,” “Sense8”), Adam Faison (“Everything’s Gonna Be Okay,” “Yes Day”), Drew Starkey (“Outer Banks,” “The Devil All the Time”), Brandon Flynn (“Ratched,” “13 Reasons Why”), Aoife Hinds (“The Long Call,” “Normal People”), Jason Liles (“Stereoscope,” “Rampage”), Yinka Olorunnife (“The Transporter”), Selina Lo (“Boss Level,” “Q8 Unleashed”), Zachary Hing (“Halo”), Kit Clarke (“Leonardo”), with Goran Visnjic (“The Boys,” “Timeless”) and Hiam Abbass (“Succession,” “Blade Runner 2049”).

Might be good. Unfortunately I don't have Hulu so I'll never see it unless it gets a Blu-ray release...

Not seeing anything ground breaking or daring if this is the best they have to offer. Curious to see if they plan to recycle any more of Chris Young's music in the film or if that's just to juice up the trailer.

Like calling Rocky 6 “Rocky Balboa” it’s nice to see them introduce Hellraisers first name “Hulu” to the title.

Like I’ve said previously I’m not hugely into this franchise. Even the couple films I like I don’t exactly love. So we’ll see how this reboot is. The trailer looks promising enough.

Re: Hellraiser (2022, D: Bruckner)
The first 2 movies will always be favorites of mine. The thing that really sets them apart is the Britishness and its adult characters. Clare Higgins delivers a terrific performance that ranges from frightened and frustrated to ruthless and blood thirsty. The appearance of the Cenobites is filled with tension and dread punctuated by Doug Bradley's poetic dialogue and magnificent voice. The music is grand and operatic. There is real artistry at work. Pinhead is never really the villain. Frank and Julia are the real villains and then Channard and Julia in the sequel. Hellraiser II has a dreamlike surreal quality that expands on the world but is infused with tragedy and redemption. I love the evolution of Channard and the showdown with Pinhead though I wish it would have lasted longer for a real battle royale but I love that shift from where the so-called bad guys become the ones you're cheering for.

Same for me. Also for all the other good movies that are coming out strictly streaming. I don't do streaming so I guess I'll never see them unless they put them out on physical media that I can buy.

I've never been able to get into this franchise. Even the original movie is just ok to me and the second one may be a little better, but I always have trouble getting through most of them. I don't have high expectations for this, but I'll give it a watch.
