I like the first and second film, but the third film lags. I think that it's because Williamson didn't write it and Craven knew that the series was running out of steam. I'll see the film if they can come up with a good way to reboot it or restart it. Lets just hope that if Craven comes on board, that this doesn't turn out as bad as Hills Have Eyes 2, which he and his son wrote.

The first movie is really good, the second is OK, and the third was ridiculous. Why does Hollywood keep milking these franchises?

chris_sc77 07-17-08 06:09 PM

I think the first two films are great but the 3rd was a major letdown.
I dont know if I even trust Craven anymore after Cursed which remains one of the worst films I have ever seen. ANd I know a lot of people say that but I really mean it when regarding Cursed. Rd Eye was ok I guess but WAY too short and overall nothing specal. Hills have eyes two was terrible as well.
I think I'd like to see a new director to be honest. One who wont put any Creed music in it.

BullGooseLoony 07-17-08 06:26 PM

I really liked the trilogy. The first is a modern classic, the second is one of the best sequels of the last twenty years, and even the very flawed third is better than most threequels.

Still, I think they should just leave well enough alone.

islandclaws 07-17-08 06:29 PM

Crap. First one is fun, second is one ok, third one sucked ass. It's so pathetic and obvious that the Weinsteins are doing this because they're hemorrhaging money like the stuck pigs they are. I'll gladly pass.

mhg83 07-17-08 06:36 PM

I loved the first and second film. I saw the third when i was in my teens and liked it as well. Last year i decided to watch it again and damn it was horseshit. The 4th will most likely double in horseshit.

I would at least Netflix a Scream sequel. I remember seeing the first one multiple times at the theater. It always got such an audience reaction. As for the sequels, my view is that the second one is more entertaining and less scary. And the third ... it had Parker Posey in it. :)

She was the only redeeming quality in that crap. If the makers actually watched that shitfest they would know a fourth is not needed.

EdTheRipper 07-17-08 07:51 PM

I enjoyed the first three and would be happy to see a fourth.

kilcher 07-18-08 12:41 AM

This is stupid. Why don't they just re-imagine the first one?

MasterofDVD 07-18-08 12:50 AM

I liked all three but a fourth is a fucking stupid idea.

Groucho 07-18-08 05:49 AM

I hope Jamie Kennedy is available!

hapgilmore 07-18-08 07:21 AM

Scream 1 is brilliant, one of the best movies of its kind. I thought Scream 2 sucked highly, don't know why so many people love it? I think Scream 3 is decent, an improvement over 2 for sure.

RichC2 07-18-08 07:37 AM

Scream 2 amped the goofy, it was funnier and more entertaining than #1 but somewhat sloppy in terms of plot execution. Scream 3 was just boring.

I agree. Except I don't the second is such a high regard but I did think it was solid film and an all around solid trilogy.

I just think the genre has played itself out to the point that in order for Scream 4 to be good it has to be as refreshing and "new" as the original was. I don't see how they'll be able to do that. But I am willing to find out.

rennervision 07-18-08 12:26 PM

I'm only interested if the 4th movie pretends like the 3rd never happened.

Scream 4: Good or Bad

So Scream 4 has been announced for a 2010 release. Wes Craven is not confirmed yet but somehow Jamie Kennedy is reprising his role as Randy Meeks (Can't really see how that would work but oh well), and Neve Campbell is not yet confirmed.

So this movie is either going to completely screw over the best horror series of all time more than the third one did or it will make a better job at ending the series than 3 did. That is restart the series considering it's susposed to be a... "re-boot" of the series. But really without Wes or Neve it really isn't a Scream movie so if they don't sign on I will not watch this movie.

So what are you're feelings about Scream 4?????????

Last Movies Seen:
Zombie Strippers: 7/10
Saw 5: 7/10

EdTheRipper 11-01-08 09:29 PM

Have you got a source for this announcement? Because I haven't seen anything aside from rumors about it for quite some time now.

Mercury&Solace 11-01-08 09:32 PM

No Scream 4

Scream=Awesome
Scream 2=Ok
Scream 3=Garbage
Scream 4=Please stop

Daytripper 11-01-08 09:42 PM

Let's get real here. This will happen. No one has heard from Neve Campbell in years. Wes Craven hasn't has a hit since "Red Eye" (in 2005). And Kevin Williamson!?? If all three returned, and with Courtney Cox, it could be o.k.

Zen Peckinpah 11-01-08 09:48 PM

Remake. That is all.

I think they should go about it with a remake theme. It's too bad they killed of Jamie Kennedy but they could have someone there complaining about all the recent horror remakes. Maybe have it so they're remaking "Stab" with Zac Effron. I think it could work great without Neve Campbell. But at least bring back someone from the original cast.

american-pie92 11-01-08 09:56 PM

Wes Craven who used to be amazing at what he does has really sole out in the past few years. I mean Red Eye was decent but lets face it Cursed sucked and not to mention The Breed and Feast. Too Bad! But yeah Randy was one of my fav characters from the original. They really seemed to kill the best characters in those movies: Randy, Stu, Omar Epps (Not really but lol!!!!). Then 3 was left to be everything the original was making fun of. I'd just hate to see the series be even worse cause since the first one they've all went downhill.
