I really hope this works... the trailer looks awesome but it's so CGI heavy, will audiences be able to connect with the characters and actually give a shit - that's my major concern... but blue aliens flying around on dinosaurs and big explosions = SOLD!

OK. Well that was really awesome. But...
I guess we can call Cameron the next George Lucas. CGI fest. It'll be interesting to see how people react to this considering how much Lucas was slammed for his overuse of CGI in the prequels.

Yeah, CGI was the reson people hated the prequels. It had nothing to do with the story or script. People just hate CGI. That's why Transfomers 2 did so shitty at the box office.

Looks solid from the trailer. I'm now even more psyched for the preview footage screening tomorrow!

Looks good, but the teaser didn't exactly blow me away. Too cartoony, imo. I hope the CG translates better on-screen and in 3D. The Na'avi look hardly as impressive as I was anticipating.

The first thing that popped into my head:
Terminator + FF: The Spirit Within + Apocalypto + Delgo
Can't be good.
But I'll give Cameron the benefit of the doubt.

Damn...sure looks original. Some CGI looks a bit rough atm, specifically the mech suits, but I'm hoping this is still being fleshed out
I'm also nothing that while the trailer addict trailer isn't full HD, I just saw the Apple quicktime trailer in HD...THERE'S A HUGE ASS DIFFERENCE. The only way to truly appreciate this thing is in HD. Here's the link to apple..

The Avatar's look amazing, but some of the things do look toony. But that's the problem with WETA, they have half the stuff look incredible, but the other half looks toony or sometimes even unfinished. Because this is such a CGI heavy film, they should have given WETA half and ILM half, so they could both do there best work.

looks really cool. Some of the CGI mainly of the humans when he arrives at that base looks so-so but the alien stuff looks great. One little side note is that blue font that they use in the trailer makes it looks cheesy.

I wasn't expecting much out of this to begin with, so consider me psyched. Looks like a blast.

I liked it. The jungle scenes reminded me of the middle part of Jackson's King Kong, which is a very good thing.

I haven't been paying attention to this. I'm not all hyped up or down. I heard the trailer is out today, so I watched it. I'm unimpressed. I have no plans to see this in the theaters at this time.
It looks like a cartoon.

I'm still not finding the appeal to general audiences who will say, "I've seen this before in Star Wars."

But it's like Star Wars meets The Matrix Revolutions meets Thundercats!
