^^^ Actually, FunkDaddy J provided the list... and thanks to him

Glad to see it's playing here but hoped it would've been in digital. But on the other hand, it's playing in one of the older stand-alone theaters, so we'll really be going retro.

No. Not until yesterday (Sunday). Now I know. It is in a good location, too. Just about a block or so from the Metro and there are several restaurants & bars around.

That screen is awesome, and the sound system was pretty good too.

For those folks who have been there before, how is the upstairs seating w/r/t sound, & screen? I sat on the main floor yesterday and it was good.

I've prefer to sit on the main floor because I don't like the rear channels firing the sound into my face when you're sitting in the balcony. Sitting nearer to the screen, also tends to give a larger wider feel since the screen is actually curved (the image is not distorted given the curvature of the screen). I thought for Blade Runner though some of the scenes felt soft, something that 35mm does. From the sound aspect, I thought the voices sounded less distinct than the music part - the crescendo of the score after Terrell is killed is amazing on the Uptown's sound system.

Dallas and Austin(twice) get it, but H-Town is left out? Not to mention when Superman: The Movie got its very brief theatrical re-release back in 2001, WB picked San Antonio of all cities.

Why do they hate us so much?

The Music Box is an awesome choice for Chicago, it actually looks like something out of Sebastian's pad in Blade Runner.

I'm surprised Atlanta isn't on it either.

(...yet Nashville is?)

Wow! I'm really geeked about this. I thought we weren't going to get this re-release in Detroit after all. Seeing the Director's Cut of Bladerunner at the Cineplex (Uptown I think it was) in D.C. in 1992 or '93 was one of my favorite theater going experiences - I was about 17 at the time.

I'm definitely going to go come hell or high water.

Thanks for posting this!
Michael

Sweet. I can't wait for that 11/30 San Francisco date.

I saw "Lust, Caution" at the Embarcadero Theater last month and I'm looking forward to going back. Great theater.

Dang, none for Honolulu? I remember when Blade Runner The Director's Cut came out it played here. I guess because we don't have any "niche" movie theaters anymore.

it'd be nice if they just decided to put it in limited release. I don't feel like driving up to Columbus.

The Bellcourt is a cool theater though. I saw the Rocky Horror Picture Show there last weekend. They are showing Dead Alive tonight, and The Jerk next week.

I'd be far more surprised if Kansas City showed up on there.

Looking for a thread to actually talk about the film. I see three, but just announcing the release. Anyway, caught it at the Uptown in D.C. last night. It was awesome, of course. But honestly, other than the Joanna Cassidy scene, nothing looked different to me. What else did they add, remove, modify?

I talked about a few changes a few posts above. Aside from just a select few (for example, changing "fucker" to "father"), the changes were very subtle. One I didn't mention was the removal of wires from a couple Spinner car scenes. I'm really looking forward to the DVD set and commentaries--particularly Paul Sammon's commentary on disc 5.
