Then you should pick up the DVD's ASAP. The show was great and building up to a confrontation against Hordak. Unfortunately, Mattel botched the toy line so Cartoon Network cancelled the show.

Hey, that's the same thing that happened to the new Thundercats, except it was Bandai...

I never consistently saw He-Man as a kid. I always loved the toys though. Regretted never seeing the series that came out w/ the new designs.

Yup. And if you think that's bad, check out how he looked as Adam.
Mercifully, Skeletor saw him transform into He-Man so he never became Adam ever again.
I was around 8 and wish I could forget that show ever existed.

Jesus. I've never even heard of that He-Man. I was 3 in 1989. Guess it never got reruns years later when I watched He-Man here and there...lol.

I hated alot of the designs from the 200x line, but that cartoon was pretty damn awesome.
I have no faith in a film. Mattel will fuck it all up, like they do everything else they lay their hands on.

I must say this is a pretty cool hybrid of MOTU, New Adventures, and 2002 He-Man:
I'd be cool with him looking like that in the movie.

It would be cool, if they actually started the franchise with King Grayskull and Hordak. Never happen, but it would be awesome.

Unless Mattel sticks to their guns about kiddifying the new movie.
The new comic book sounds pretty cool. Anybody read it?

I wonder if they are gonna use the Grayskull: Masters of the Universe script reviewed over at Latino Review. They seemed to have pulled all traces of it from their site. Even the original link is dead. If they use that script, the film stands a chance at being all kinds of badass.
Word is the script from Alex Litvak and Mike Finch is a hot one and Sony wants to get this thing filmed.

Here's hoping it's as good as the script by Justin Marks.

Some of the newer online only toys are pretty cool looking updates of the original toys. See here Don't have any but if I collected He-Man stuff, I'd probably love it.

It'd be cool if Dolph appeared as King Randor or King Grayskull himself:

Wenk to pen 'Masters of the Universe'
Jon M. Chu is set to direct the live-action He-Man pic
Sony Pictures and Escape Artists have decided to continue riding the hot hand of scribe Richard Wenk ("The Equalizer"), who has been tapped to rewrite He-Man pic "Masters of the Universe."
Jon M. Chu is set to direct the live-action film based on the popular Mattel toy line.
Story follows a young prince who becomes a warrior and sets out to defeat the evil Skeletor and fulfill his destiny as He-Man.
Escape Artists' partners Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producing.
Alex Litvak and Mike Finch wrote the initial draft of the script, which was originally titled "Grayskull."
Pic has been in development several years, and the property was previously adapted as a 1987 live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella.
Sony and Escape Artists have been high on Wenk ever since his script for mid-budget thriller "The Equalizer" prompted Sony to close Denzel Washington's deal and set an April start date for a film that could launch Washington's first franchise if it is successful. Pic is loosely based on the TV series that starred Edward Woodward, and producers are expected to settle on a director in the coming weeks.
Wenk previously penned the action-thrillers "16 Blocks" and "The Mechanic," and he most recently co-wrote "The Expendables 2" with Sylvester Stallone. The Lionsgate sequel has grossed $289 million worldwide since opening in mid-August.
Wenk is repped by the Gersh Agency, the Arlook Group and Schreck Rose Dapello & Adams.
