It's coming much sooner than you think.....

The Bus 02-26-08 08:14 AM

Watched it today. It was nice seeing all the trailers again. Anyone else catch it yet?

Is it available On Demand?

If that's the case, I might have to get Starz now.

kaze0 03-03-08 06:01 AM

It's available on demand.

chanster 03-03-08 07:19 AM

I saw Planet Terror was showing on Starz HD, I'm not sure if the other half, Death Proof is available.

Check the On-Demand listing. They have each movie individually plus the theatrical Grindhouse version.

GreenVulture 03-03-08 03:15 PM

Huh...I see Death Proof and Planet Terror listed, but no Grindhouse. Oh well, maybe it'll show up later this week.

Also, it should be noted that on the On-Demand section, all of the video-based DVD extras for both movies are available to watch, with new intros from McGowan.

I wonder if different cable providers have different On-Demand listings with the networks.

Oh, speaking of McGowan. She's f'ng hot in both movies and the DVD extras. :D

Mondo Kane 03-30-08 04:07 PM

Bump for the non-On Demand owners tonight (Like me)

The transfer is done. The extras are done. The encoding and disc production? I've heard nothing.

From what I've heard from various sources, we may be waiting until the end of Q3 to see the release. If they release it near Halloween, it would make sense, as that is when we should be seeing the first Blu-ray titles from the company.

DonnachaOne 03-30-08 05:51 PM

Well, what you've told me is nothing particularly solid. Just because a company has a solid release in one country doesn't mean it's going to be released elsewhere, after all. The Iron Giant had a special edition in Korea long before Warner said they had no plans for one, for example. For more instances, one needs only to check out the International Forum...

candyrocket786 03-30-08 06:17 PM

Fuck waiting... import the SOB and be done with it. :D

Thank Christ I never waited for the uncut version of Kill Bill V1.

Mondo Kane 03-31-08 02:10 AM

Like TomOpus said, it was good seeing the trailers again and It was good to not hear the Wilhelm being used during the first crash in Death Proof.

Buttmunker 04-30-08 08:41 AM

Well, thanks to Quentin Tarantino for introducing me to Dave Dee, Dozy Beaky, Mick & Tich

And Death Proof wans't half-bad, neither.

1) The Weinsteins have nothing to do with the Japanese release of the film.

2) It's documented that the Weinsteins are releasing on Blu-ray in Q3 and Q4.

3) At Comic Con last year, the company said themselves that Grindhouse would be one of their first titles.

4) One would assume the DVDs would be around the same time frame.

5) Especially when the Weinsteins are going to be pushing their Dimension Extreme label to the max in Q3 with all of the titles they're acquiring.

Buttmunker 04-30-08 10:44 AM

Kurt Russell came alive at the point where he told the first girl in his car that, since he's going left and not right like the girl wanted, she's going to have to start getting scared...immediately!

I loved it. And Rosario Dawson is adorably hot!! (I have only got to the part where they take the white car out for "a spin" from the hillbilly. Hope she don't die.)

Im not sure how you thought death proof was so bad. Is everybody watching the same film here? Sure there is a lot of dialogue and at times it can be a little irrelevant to the proceedings, but the majority of the film is very enjoyable. A great soundtrack, good looking girls and several fantastic car chases and stunts. It may not be Tarantino's best film but it was still a very good movie in its own right. It was far superior to Rodriguez's grindhouse attempt IMO.

Buttmunker 05-02-08 02:39 PM

I caught Tarantino borrowing from himself a couple times. Like when Tarantino is the bartender, and he pours drinks and says, "a tasty beverage." He used that line in Four Rooms!

so many others, but I forgot and next time will have to write it down when I see/hear it.

It was used in Pulp Fiction first. "Mind if I have some of your tasty beverage to wash this down with?"
