Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
Yep, I saw Grindhouse 3 times including once at the Chinese Theater with QT and company in attendance. It was great.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
and also to add since this thread is here ... not more than 5 minutes ago I just ordered Death Proof bd (and Shutter Island) from Amazon ... figured 11.14 was low enough that I was going to stop waiting till it dropped any further

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
I saw it twice theatrically, and dragged another person to see it each time.
A lot of fun. Was a theatrical cut ever released? |

A lot of fun. Was a theatrical cut ever released? http://www.amazon.com/Grindhouse-Two...trical+Blu-ray Of course there was a big uproar at the time due to it being released on Blu-ray with a standard Dolby Digital 5.1 640 kbps standard track. The individual releases were all released with lossless tracks. |
Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
I hated Death Proof. As Snake said, "bitches talk a lot"...bores me in real life, bored me to pieces here.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
Five years (or whatever) later and I still love Planet Terror and like Death Proof.

I think part of the magic of GH is lost on home video. This was an experience meant to be seen on the big screen with an audience. It was one of the greatest times i had in a movie theater.
It was awesome. |
Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
I will admit that I can see how home video takes out the grandeur of the premise. I've never had so much fun watching a movie. It was like getting a present for going to the movies.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
I saw Grindhouse three times. It was a badge of honor for a while since the whole thing wasn't released on DVD/Blu-ray right away. Death Proof proves I can watch Tarantino film anyone talking(even bitches) and I'd find the shit riveting. The whole thing works for me.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
Yeah for sure. I was having fun listening to them talking.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
It's kind of disappointing that the "Grindhouse" Blu-ray only has the shorter theatrical cuts of both movies. It would've been great to have had an option to select the extended cuts and then watch those with all the trailers together.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
Oh fuck that. That'd be too much. And I love the extended cut of DP. PT only had what? That little bit w/ Cherry taking out that piece of metal out of her thigh?

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
I still haven't seen the Extended cuts. Planet Terror was forgettable, Death Proof was fantastic.

Re: "Grindhouse" reviews thread.
This website called Movie-Censorship.com breaks down the differences between the extended cuts and the theatrical cuts (aka "Grindhouse" versions).

And I just have to get this out of my system "You can't be doing all that crying and shit....it's go go not cry cry". - RR real estate agent in planet terror. |
