Now you've really piqued my interest.

Sorry for the Hijack.

9 and Ice Age were fun. Not on the level of an Up or Princess, but they were good.

You're absolutely correct.
That does sound "odd!"

Completely agree! UP and The Princess and The Frog were just so unique and entertaining on their own levels. I guess that is why TIME magazine named them #1 and #2 on the "Top Movies of 2009" list!

I liked it a lot, some of the humor definitely reminded me of the early 90's movies, like when the man offered the flower to Tiana, she leaves, he turns around and accidentally offered it to a huge fat guy instead. Moments like that, the characters, and the alligator were awesome. The animation was great, and the stylized animation when Tiana was singing about her restaurant in the beginning was very good.

I agree about the villian being a little weak, the whole "I'm subservient to an even more powerful villian" thing seemed a little too convenient...also the fact that the Prince's servant was so quick to turn on him was sort of strange, despite that quick recap of his past.

I did not appreciate the fact that the trailer released earlier this year showed so much from the movie. I hadn't seen the trailer since then, but I remembered most of it, and they showed a great deal from Act III, specifically the END of Act III.

that was the stand-out 'impressive' scene to me as well - and the song was good too.

I found the 'Dig a Little Deeper' number on youtube. It'll probably be removed soon, but this is my favorite song and sequence from the movie. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EyDKcPvO8g

mraw -- "Dig a Little Deeper" was one of my favorites too, although all the songs were really great throughout the entire movie.

Just caught this earlier tonight with the family. Enjoyed it, and more than I thought I would. I don't know if I can elevate it yet (perhaps after a home viewing on DVD) to "best film of the year" status or on par with some of the other Disney classics, but I thought it was well done.
