I think I saw on wiki that the Mako guy just died recently and was supposed to be playing the voice of Splinter. Wonder what effect this will have.

The new film is completely ignoring the two animated series; it will take place after the last two films and take its tone and style from the comics.

Obviously, that means that Splinter is not gonna be in the movie. Sad.

Yeah he passed away recently, one of my favorite actors. He would've been great as Splinter.

Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa would be my second choice for the voice.

The teaser has me cautiously optimistic.

I finally saw the trailer and ... I'm pretty excited. I do agree that the faces could use a little re-working, but the darker, "Daredevil"-ish feel is pretty sweet. I was rolling at Mike's spill at the end of the trailer. That trailer and the great posters recently released undoubtedly have me looking forward to seeing this.

Oh, and there is no such thing as a good TMNT movie without Splinter.

Splinter will be in it, he'll be recasted.

Count me excited on this one. Then again, I love the original and the animated series.

looks fantastic, although i didn't like the cheesy "i'm ok!" comedic relief part at the end of the trailer. stick with the serious violent tone.

Unfortunately, they are probably going to walk the same line the movie did (which had scenes straight out of the comics but was definitely kiddie in tone).

I'm just hopping to see some epic ninja battles, even if they do remain bloodless.

That's funny, I thought it looked really corny until that exact moment.
It can still be dark and violent, but it shouldn't take itself so seriously.

However, my love for TMNT started with the comic books, so I'd much rather see the Turtles as animated characters. This looks completely awesome. The character design looks great (and is reminiscent of the comics - their heads were a little too big in the movie to account for the actors.) In fact, there have been a LOT of different looks for the turtles, just check this out to see how radical the different takes can be.

I was never a big fan of the cartoon, as I felt it was way too goofy. In the comics, the turtles have fun but can be stone-cold killers when they need to be. When Leonardo hit someone with his swords, blood flew. Those aren't toys. Hopefully we'll get some blood in this, or at least some brutal fighting.

Anyway, I'm extremely excited for this flick! It seems MUCH truer to the source material than any other adaptation so far.
I totally agree with what you said. I too grew up reading TMNT Comics and I thought the movies as well as the cartoons were way too happy for my tastes. I hope this movie goes back to the comic book roots.

I know. Even after seeing the teaser, I still thought that this was going to be a live action movie instead of a CGI. Silly me.

Looks good, I think their faces look alright, there bodies seemed a little thin to me but overall I think they'll look pretty good.

I don't know if I'd see it in a theater, but I'll definately give it a rent.

I'll have to see a trailer before deciding if I'll see this in the theater. It'll definately get a rent, but I'm a little disappointed it's not live action.

The trailer posted won't play, watched it at IMDB, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0453556/...ay-E28310-10-2 .

I realize that it's just a teaser, but is the entire film gonna be CGI or just the turtles?

The stuff I saw at Comic-Con points to all CGI.

I read an interview with the director that said all his lines were recorded and will be used. I can't remember the link now, sorry.

i like it (the monsters)...taking a diffrent approach than the old turtles vs shredder/foot clan right out the gate. the voices seem to work for me.

I could be wrong but I think that's one of the turtles in motorcycle armour.
