I caught part of the panel yesterday at Comic-Con. The clips they showed looked good. They're going to announce the voice talent in a week or a month (can't remember) so he couldn't say any names but did say none of them are celebrities.

Had no idea. I was a fan of the originial cartoon and live action movies, but not sure about this. Thought the trailor was pretty dumb till the end, will have to see more and decide later.

I really enjoy the original movie - I think they did a great job with that one.
However, my love for TMNT started with the comic books, so I'd much rather see the Turtles as animated characters. This looks completely awesome. The character design looks great (and is reminiscent of the comics - their heads were a little too big in the movie to account for the actors.) In fact, there have been a LOT of different looks for the turtles, just check this out to see how radical the different takes can be.
I was never a big fan of the cartoon, as I felt it was way too goofy. In the comics, the turtles have fun but can be stone-cold killers when they need to be. When Leonardo hit someone with his swords, blood flew. Those aren't toys. Hopefully we'll get some blood in this, or at least some brutal fighting.
Anyway, I'm extremely excited for this flick! It seems MUCH truer to the source material than any other adaptation so far.

I liked the teaser. I was a fan of the cartoon and movies as a kid, but I hope this new film's tone is a bit darker.
EDIT: I'm not quite sure about the film's tone anymore. Apple.com has this listed as a "family" film.

Where did you guys get that this movie looked like it had a dark tone? I saw a bunch of giant turtles with nunchucks and shit running around New York at night with a slapstick gag to cap it off.
I'll wait for the trailer.

Wow, I was just thinking about them yesterday and even searched around amazon for their dvds. the trailer looks pretty nice. I thought the cartoons were much better than the movies but might give this one a try.

Growing up as a TMNT kid like a majority of little boys growing up in the late '80s- early '90s, that teaser trailer got me excited to see the movie. I thought the animation was pretty amazing, and it definitely wasn't as bright and cheery as the old cartoon. I would like to see them make it a little more mature as well, although I doubt it happens. The plot sounds a little lame at the same time.
I'll be keeping an eye on it though.

Remember, there is no true "standard" for the Turtles. Every medium has treated them differently.

Isn't it true that originally, the Turtles all had the same coloured masks or whatever in the comic, and the different colours were only done so kids could tell who was who?
I really enjoyed both the movie and 80's cartoon as a kid, but haven't had much exposure to the comic I'm afraid.

I'm glad they're doing it CGI. Teaser looks really cool. I join in the hope that this is more like the comic books and less like the cartoon.
