I wonder how the DVDs for season 2 are gonna be handled. Since there's a lot of the same directors returning, are we gonna see new versions of "Working with a master" on the extras, for instance? And are they still gonna have trading cards?

I've seen almost all of the Masters of Horror DVD Releases(Chocolate being the exception)
Favorites-Homecoming,Incident on and off a Mountain, and Deer Womans.
Burns & Witchhouse are good, and I thought Sick Girl was boring(The commentary makes the dvd a keeper tho)
And Carpenter didn't even really like his own movie. Just listen to the commentary.

I read that Rob Zombie was offered to do an episode but with touring he was unable to do it. (plus you would think a lot of time after the tour would be devoted to Halloween) Oh well, there is always season 3.

Picked up Jenifer last night. Glad that they included the uncut footage in one of the featurettes. It was pretty disturbing to see though!

Ok, I got Jennifer yesterday and the trading card that came with Jennifer is numbered 8 of 13. I checked Homecoming and that card was also numbered 8 of 13. Any idea what is going on? I do not have a number 7 card, did they mis-number the cards? Anyone else collecting the cards as well as the dvds?

I watched "Homecoming" and "Pick Me Up" last weekend. I would give "Homecoming" an A. The Ann Coulter-type shrew was dead-on. "Pick Me Up" was entertaining and it was cool to see Fairuza Balk.

The political message ruined Homecoming for me. If it would've been about ten times more subtle in it's message then I might've enjoyed it. I'm not even a GW supporter. I actually don't like him and didn't vote for him, but I felt like Homecoming's message was wacking me over the head with a sledgehammer. I'm not interested in politics, so there is my bias.
I was able to enjoy V For Vendetta. I absolutely loved that movie. I think because it was about a fictitious political environment. Sure you can draw the parallels between the Bush administration, Thatcher's England, or Nazi Germany, but I didn't feel like any of it was forced down my throat, like Homecoming.

Masters of Horror S2
Here's the list (so far) for Season 2. I'm not sure if this is the complete list and or if this in order of airdate:
Family, directed by John Landis and written by Brent Hanley, tells the story of a young married couple (Meredith Monroe and Matt Keeslar) that moves into a new home in a new city and finds out that their neighbor (George Wendt) is not what he seems.
The Fat Man, is an episode based on a short story by Joe R Lansdale with a screenplay by Neal Barrett Junior.
Pelts, directed by Dario Argento, written by Matt Venne, adapted from F. Paul Wilson’s short-story, is an erotic tale about stolen raccoon pelts that violently turn against those that covet them in this Giallo-style adaptation of F. Paul Wilson’s short story. Meat Loaf and John Saxon star.
The Damned Thing, directed by Tobe Hooper, inspired by Ambrose Bierce’s classic short-story and written by Richard Christian Matheson, is the apocalyptic tale of a monstrous force that devastates Sheriff Kevin Reddle’s family and his small Texas town. Sean Patrick Flanery, Marisa Coughlan and Ted Raimi star.
Pro-Life, directed by John Carpenter, written by Drew McWeeny & Scott Swan, tells the story of a young girl trapped inside a clinic, that discovers the only thing more dangerous than her pursuers is the demonic secret that she carries within her. Ron Perlman, and Caitlin Wachs star.
The V Word, a vampire film directed by Ernest Dickerson and written by Mick Garris, reveals the punishment visited upon two teenage boys who make the very poor decision to break into a mortuary. Michael Ironside stars.
Sounds Like, directed and written by Brad Anderson, adapted from a short-story by Mike O’Driscoll, tells the story of Larry Pearce - an ordinary man blessed with a gift of extraordinary supernatural hearing that drives him to the brink of insanity and forces him to take violent action to silence the horrific cacophony in his head.
The Screwfly Solution, directed by Joe Dante, written by Sam Hamm and adapted from the James Tiptree, Jr. short-story, is about a nightmare virus infecting our nation, transforming men into psychotic killers who attack every woman that crosses their paths.
Valerie On The Stairs, directed and written by Mick Garris from a Clive Barker original screen story, tells the tale of a novelist who discovers there are fates worse than literary anonymity in this sexually-charged tale of terror.
We Scream For Ice Cream, directed by Tom Holland from David J. Schow’s adaptation of John Farris’ short-story, depicts a local ice cream man who, in this case, is turning sweet-toothed children against their parents.
The Black Cat, directed by Stuart Gordon and written by Gordon & Dennis Paoli, has the great Edgar Allan Poe, out of ideas and short on cash, tormented by a black cat that will either destroy his life or inspire him to write one of his most famous stories. Jeffrey Combs stars as Poe.

^Thanks for the news.
Just some Immediate reactions:
-Tobe Hooper, why are you going back to that apocalyptic stuff?
-"We Scream For Ice Cream" sounds like something too stupid for even TALES FROM THE CRYPT to air.
-Where have you gone, Dario? To direct something like that!
-Now I know the reason why they changed the cover-art for the previous episodes. Because Ernest Dickerson doesn't have any horror credentials to put on the cover!
-I'm intrigued by the premise of "Pro-Life". Looks like Carpenter will be the savior again.
-Mick, I love you for creating the series, but will you honestly deliver the goods on directing a Clive Barker story?
-It's good to see another combo involving Gordon and Combs. But I guess Gordon just can't make something else if it doesn't involve Poe or Lovecraft, right?
-Wasn't Guillermo Del Toro supposed to direct an episode?

According to Dread Central, the final three directors for season two will be:
Peter Medak - The Changeling, Species II
Rob Schmidt - Wrong Turn
Norio Tsuruta - Ring 0, Premonition
That's not exactly what I imagined when I heard:
"If all three of them agree, it will be nirvanna for horror fans."
I'm guessing Mick didn't get the ones he wanted.

The first season was decent, but too many episodes were missed opportunities. The best of the bunch were Cigarette Burns, Homecoming, Pick Me Up and Fair-Haired Child, which may have actually seemed better than it is since I anticipated Malone doing a crap job. The worst are easy to pick out: Dance of the Dead, Haeckel's Tale and Sick Girl, which featured some of the worst acting I've seen in a while. The rest were all decent, nothing more or less. I hope season 2 picks up the slack, but with these new directors not even qualifying for the title of 'Masters of Horror' I won't hold my breath.
And please for christ's sake AB, keep the artwork consistent for season 2, ok? My season 1 collection looks like crap from an aesthetic standpoint.

So I guess "masters" of horror isn't supposed to be taken literally? Carpenter and Landis are the only ones that would actually fit that title.
Pro-life is the only one that interests me, carpenter and pearlmen =
