he has been practically the main villian in 3 of the 4 original superman movies

Hopefully, one of the sequels will have Dave Chapelle or Chris Rock as Gus Gorman.

What about Mr. Mxyztplk. Those were always fun episodes and Gilbert Gottfried could play him live action with a CGI effect making him about 3 feet high.

Yes, but my point is that it's not like Lex Luthor has been running around other films. This film is meant to restart the franchise, it would only make sense to have Lex Luthor. Yes, Batman Begins didn't have the Joker, but in the context of the story, having the villain it did made sense.

Well, the lineup of Alicia Silverstone as supergirl, Arnold Swartzenegger as Braniac, Jim Carrey as Toyman and Uma Thurmas as Maxima would be friggin awesome.

Where is Joel's number???

Hmmm you're right about the original w/curtains that open.... I don't believe the new one has the curtains. If I had remembered, I would've looked for it.

Don't let anyone spoil anything for you: just watch it. Just trust me when I say that if you had any doubts about how good the movie might be, just watching the opening credits will get you pumped up for the rest of the movie. People in the theater were literally cheering throughout the whole opening. I can't wait to see it.

But if you're really interested:

Spoiler:
Think "contact" only in reverse, starting from Krypton. It also uses the same "zooming" text from the first movie.

I think he meant because he's been the villain in 3 of the now 5 superman movies. That's quite a bit, no?

I didn't hear him, but i'm pretty sure he was referring to 'ol Lexy being the villain in 1, 2 & 4...

I always thought Gary Oldman would make a great General Zod.

Um, unless I'm in your ignore list--which makes this post pointless as well--I just gave you 3 right after your previous post.

Well, hang on, Kal...the remark wasn't directed at you. I am very grateful that you continue to post the links, so I apologize if you thought the snarky remark was meant for you. I was just trying to get the thread back on track. No offense intended.
