I actually prefer Predator 2 to Predator 1.

And Alien 3 and even Alien: Resurrection were a lot (yes, a lot) better than AvP. Facehuggers leaping in slow motion, chestbursters gestating in twenty minutes (or an hour and a half if the movie required it), the lamebrain wrestling moves in the fights? The obnoxious cast of characters who were nowhere near as charismatic as the casts of Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien: Resurrection or Predator? The flagrant misuse of Lance Henrickson? I just caught the movie again on cable the other night, and it's probably the low point of Paul W.S. Anderson's career (and yes, I'm including the Mortal Kombat movies).

Alien3 is the best film in the franchise if you watch the extended cut. This is by no means a unique opinion but I share it every time someone bashes the flick because I really think the workprint is phenomenal. I also think Aliens is kind of overrated. There are great scenes, like the scene in the medlab, and Bishop is awesome, but on the whole I have never felt that Aliens lives up to its reputation quite as much as it should. Of course that may be people over-overhyping it, but that's not my fault.

I expect more out of an event film than an average sequel.

Though all event films -- H20, Alien vs. Predator, Freddy vs. Jason -- have been toilet spew. Now that we understand event films are no better -- and in cases worse -- than the average sequel, your point is valid. But, at the time it was new. We expected something special.

The workprint is a definite improvement on Alien 3, but it's still not in the same league as the first two films.

AvP was just bad. Bad production, bad script, bad editing, bad characters.

It's not even "campy" bad. It's just bad. It's like they just gave up once they started filming.

I gotta say, looks a lot better than the first one. It's definitely rated R, that's for sure.

Wow! I know one of the complaints about AvP was the lack of blood and its PG-13 rating, this trailer seems tailor made to cut that bitching off at the pass!

Wow, AVP: We're So Sorry About The First One is looking pretty good.

Looks bloody as hell but other than that i am not sure what to make of it.The jet looks to be dropping a nuke on a city(to easy,been done before in Retuen of the living Dead if this is the case) To be honest,i would much rather Fox just amke a stand alone Predator 3,the First AVP was god awful,i could not belive how terrible it was.

Aliens and Predator 1 are still my favorites...
