Resident Evil: Extinction

I ejoyed it, thought it was probably the best of the series. For the record I really disliked the first one (barely any zombies, too much of a detour from the tone of the games, too many Paul WS Anderson fingerprints all over it), and liked the second one as a truer game adaptation although it still suffered as a movie. This was the first that felt like a real movie, and I think they captured the tone of the games even if the story is a complete departure. I think the zombie animals and t-virus mutations are what sets the series apart from standard zombie fare, and they delivered in spades here. I actually think this was better than Land of the Dead, which covered a similar 'zombie end of the world' theme.

Why not? Land of the Dead isn't considered to be a huge classic. I'd somewhat agree, in that I actually found RE3 to be more entertaining than Land of the Dead. I like the ideas presented in LOTD, but the movie just didn't do it for me. I say that as a huge Romero fan. His 1978 Dawn of the Dead is my favorite horror film of all time.

As far as RE:E, I don't care if they airbrushed her face or not, Milla is not hard to look at. And this was probably my favorite of the three.

I find myself drawn to the comedic aspects of that film.

And along those lines it is distracting in these 'end of world' movies where the women have clear skin.. clean, cut and colored hair, and have shaved legs/pits.... not that I don't like eye candy, but they were supposed to be 5 years after civilization collapsed, no running water, sleeping in the vehicles, etc.... women don't look that good after 1 day without modern amenities.

They airbrushed her? Ooooh, that's what that was.
I kept thinking how weird her skin looked. I LOOOVE me some Milla so I can never get enough of her and even if she's aged a bit, she's still very beautiful to me.
Anyway, I really liked this movie. It was what it was and nothing more and that's not a bad thing. I had fun with it, I loved the "help" she got at a certain point, and I felt satisfied when I walked out at the end.

I'm considering watching this because Ali Larter is very hot. How much screen time does she have?
Also, what is the blood and gore level for the Resident Evil movies? Is it a Friday the 13th level of gore? I ask because I don't like horror movies much, I am only considering watching this because I like the actresses.

Well I finally saw it this weekend, not a bad movie, nut not a good one either. It was on par with the second film, and it felt like it had nothing to do with the video games plot anymore.

But then it ceases to be a horror movie....cause that just wouldn't be scary, that would be AWESOME!!!

I could not stop thinking about Day of the Dead while watching this today.
I totally enjoyed this movie. It's funny how the director loves to use sparks and "blades" in almost all his movies

I watched all 3 movies today for the first time (the first 2 on DVD, and 3 at the theater), and I felt I watched the same movie 3 times in a row. fight some zombies, some zombie dogs, have just about all the main characters die, have Milla have to fight and increasingly horrible creature at the end, and then end with a To Be Continued instead of giving things a satisfying conclusion of any sorts.
This kind of advancement might work for video games, but it's just boring for film.

i just saw this on dvd. Fucking awesome ! the action scenes were some of the best ive seen in this genre . Those crows were evil ! i only didn't like the end mutated dr dude, that was a bit cheesy and reminded my of the Story of Ricky.
