Are we sure this will be rated "R"? I'm not one of the rating crazies on the board (no offense guys), I would just find it funny if the trailer had more gore than the final cut of the film.

Always a sucker for a good zombie flick... I just hope its better than R/E 2.

At least one of the showings is sold out at my local theater... that's usually a good indication that the movie will do pretty well, since my local market is oversaturated with theaters.

I happened to catch this at an exhibitor screening. I didn't think it was as strong as the first two.
However, the action is cool and some of the setpieces are really nice. If you liked the first two, you'll still like this one. It's just that its flaws are even more glaring.

well, seen it today and I loved the setting, the look of world, the vehicles , the zombies look really really good. there was a great movie trying to get out, but the alice stuff and the stuff with Umbrella is the weakest part. the stuff with Ali Later and the survivors is the best stuff. The infect crow stuff is awesome. This is better then the first and much much better then the second one. Could of been great though,

Trying to decide if I should see or skip this one. I thought the first RE was average, passable entertainment...but I wanted to blow my head off during RE: Apocalypse... I just hated the whole thing from start to finish... If I'm hearing this one isn't as good as 2, I guess I should probably stay home....

You have posted here before, right? Your post is fairly rife with spoilers.

The airbrushing was godawful and totally inconsistent - who signed off on that shit?
I thought it was better than the polished turn that was Apocalypse, but I still didn't get into it that much - the whole first act felt redundant and just a lame rehash of things we've seen before (seriously, we needed more Zombie dogs? Another zombie movie where someone gets bitten and covers it up and no one seems to clue in?)
I did feel however that the last act started to move in a better direction and once they got to Vegas, I was definitely entertained from there on. I hope that if they do a 4th, they ditch the digital airbrushing and maybe get someone else (anyone else!) to take a crack at the script....

I liked it alot better than the second installment. But I hope the 4th is the last film with the "Alice" storyline. I wouldn't mind them going further but they need to wrap it up.

Didn't enjoy this movie very much at all...In fact this didnt even feel at all like a movie in terms, of plot, pacing, resolution, length or any number of other factors.
I love Milla but this makes me hope the franchise is over and she will move on to better projects.

This film lacked something, like a soul, it just never makes a heartfelt attempt to develop the characters, so when all zombie hell breaks loose, it returns to its video game roots and becomes a very stiff cinematic treatment of such actions sequences, and produces a disconnect with the audiences on many levels. Another failing is that it feels like a 3-act film that ends with its 2nd act because the final encounter between Alice and the baddie is so very anti-climatic.
A minor nitpick: There are close-up scenes where they airbrushed the hell out of Milla Jovovich's face for no good reason, and wasn't consistent because those close-up would be interspliced with longer shots that didn't have the airbrushing, and it just looked weird. Plus, no one under those conditions should be looking luminous as Milla did as Alice in many of those scenes.
Ali Larter looks great with chestnut hair coloring, and her acting isn't too bad in the film.
I give it 2 stars, or a grade of C.

I saw this yesterday and enjoyed it for what it was. A popcorn flick. The plot was just ok but there were some pretty cool action scenes. I would say its a solid C+. Nothing special but it wasnt bad. This is coming from someone who enjoyed 2 though.

Resident Evil films always lack what they should always have more of, zombies! The only part i enjoyed alot was when they first got to Vegas and got swarmed with all the zombies, that was great. And this Alice storyline is really getting old and just ridiculous. I hope this is the last one.

I enjoyed this one, more than the first 2 even.
IMO Mila was more convincing as a badass in this movie than her previous attempts in this series and others.
The only thing I didn't like about the movie was having Sony products constantly shoved down my throat.

I'd prefer a Northern Exposure-esque sitcom spinoff with the survivors.
