Well I've recently been watching all 20 Bond movies in order but I'm only up to For Your Eyes Only at the moment.

My order:
Moonraker - sorry but it's my favorite of the Moore Bonds movies. Maybe it's because it's sci-fi and so different. Personally they're all kind of lame with all the gadgets and villains anyway so I never understook why people hated this so much.
Octopussy - The most action packed of the Rogore Moore Bond movies and Q plays a big role which is great.
The Man with the Golden Gun - Christopher Lee as Scaramanga was awesome!
The Spy Who Loved Me - to me it was cool because of Q's inventions and Jaws was an awesome henchman.
For Your Eyes Only - I liked the darker feel of this movie much like the Connery Bond movies.
Live and Let Die - not bad at all but didn't stand out among the others. Probably my least favorite next to Diamonds Are Forever.
A View to a Kill - As awesome as Christopher Walkin is, he was a weak villain in this movie. Moore was also a little too old I thought.

Well, thats another discussion for another thread about *those* movies.

There is a part of me that just finds it overly dumb that James Bond would do a friggin Tarzan yell. I find "Diamonds are Forever" to be stupid but at least there was none of that in it.

I like Moore's more "serious" Bond movies, leave the tarzan yells, space battles, birds doing double takes out. Save the parody stuff for Austin Powers.

I do tend to prefer Connery because he plays it straight...no winking at the camera or anything like that.

I've only seen a few of them:

1) The Spy Who Loved Me (one of the best Bonds)
2) Moonraker
3) A View To Kill

Except for the end of Never Say Never Again.

1. The Spy Who Loved Me - the first Bond film I ever saw in a theater, and the best of the Moore's, one of the best of the entire SERIES. I'd rank it in the top 5 without hesitation.

2. For Your Eyes Only - two words: SHEENA EASTON. Great, back-to-basics Bond flick, too.

3. Moonraker - fuck the naysayers. This is big, loud, spectacle Bond entertainment. OK, it's all a bit silly in the end but I love it.

4. Octopussy - I don't know why this one gets ragged on as much as it does, I always enjoy watching it. Entertaining. Not great, but entertaining.

5. Live and Let Die - Bond nails a black chick. She was a major hottie, too. Again, not as horrific as people make it out to be. Mostly fun, some dead spots.

6. The Man with the Golden Gun - Never really cared for this one.

7. A View To A Kill - Garbage. Crapola. Shit on a shingle. Good Duran Duran tune, Tanya Roberts looks nice, that's about it. Grace Jones? I'm outta here.

Those saying about Moore's silliness, his first two Bonds he played it the most serious LALD and TMWTGG. LALD was a go-nowhere hodgepodge, but TMWTGG is the only Bond where he was the most Connery-esque. The comments on it are right, he was brutal, and proved the superior assassin.

I kinda half expected it when Moore did it. It is silly but it's just as goofy as him telling the tiger to "SIT!" (as the tiger quickly backs down & sits). He has so many silly quips & winks at the audience that it really doesn't make me cringe.

Chewie doing the Tarzan yell in Return of the Jedi completely pisses me off though.

The only thing i really like about that movie is the fact that Bond is a bit older and its the 80's instead of the 1960's. The cold war wasn't what it was in the 1960's and Q mentions something about budget cutbacks. A very interesting look into what things might have been like had (Connery) Bond continued to serve up into the 1980's. BTW, this movie also had a terrible theme song....just as bad as the one for "Man with the Golden Gun".

Other than that...i'd just watch "Thunderball" instead.

I believe the Duran Duran theme song is the only worthwhile thing about this movie....in fact its one of my favorite themes.

Grace Jones....ugh...scary scary woman.

IMO all the Bond movies have some redeeming features, even when they aren't the creme of the crop installments. Moore's Bond was lighter than Connery, and it took me a long time to appreciate what he brought to the role, but when I watch them now I enjoy all of them; I also think he's been the most gracious Bond of them all, been a very classy elder statesman post-007.

On his site he answers questions monthly, a lot of behind-the-scenes 007 tidbits like how was he really strapped into a G-force machine for that Moonraker scene? They put air tubes on his face and he had to pull some faces "I don't do pain!"
